Last weekend we started watching this movie cause there are too many streaming options and sometimes we watch something random as hell. This starts off in 1992 with this little girl sleeping in bed when the sound of a toy boat in the pool wakes her up. Her name is Rebecca. She goes to her brother's room who is on oxygen and says she is gonna go grab it for him since he had lost it. She tries fishing it out and it keeps scooting away. Eventually her ass is yanked in and still trying to get the boat. Undeterred she keeps trying until some mass pulls her under and she vanishes.
Fast forward to today and the Waller family is looking at the house. There's mother, father, sister, brother. They appreciate each other. Father got MS and can't baseball no more. Mom extremely understanding. Daughter is daughter. Son is weird because every show now writes young boys as weird and with some undiagnosed issue. While cleaning the pool father scratches his hand crazy style. Guy comes to check and says pool has natural water and some other shit I didn't understand. Father's cut heals and his symptoms seem to be getting less and less. Mother concerned but does nothing about it cause father happy.
One day the son gets spooked seeing shit in the pool and talks to Rebecca. He tells mother which is smart. Daughter gets attacked while swimming with cute boy from school. says nothing. Father happy to have his mojo back but he is getting more aggressive.
Mother starts doing research about the house and asks realtor lady about Rebecca and she is like "Huminuhhuminuh..." Turns out people been doing in that place for decades. At a pool party father and some other dude are playing with kids on their shoulders when father starts walking into that glass shark infested part if the pool and Kung fu gripping the boys kegs so he can't get free. His dad shows up to save him. Mother says maybe it's the MS. Yeah. MS causes attempted murder.
She goes to see the mom of Rebecca who is older and doing very well. Her son is healthy and successful. Each time mother asks about Rebecca this lady acts weird and starts leaking black licorice juice. She explains that it's pretty much a wishing well but that a sacrifice has to be made. She had her daughter taken for the health of her son.
Mother comes home and the son is being killed by the pool and father is playing a deadly game of Marco Polo with daughter. Mother pulls son from water after fighting off dozens of ghosts and with some help from ghost Rebecca. Father grabs her by the neck ready to chokeslam her until daughter goes full Sting mode and whips his ass with a baseball bat. Son gets sicker the further from the pool he gets so father, now clear headed after his daughter kicked his ass, realizes he has to kill himself to save his son. He does. Family contemplates moving but fear this continuing so they bury the pool with dirt.
This was your average newer horror movie. Thankfully the explained the evil from the water because with most of these movies if you keep asking questions the writer may as well be over your shoulder saying to shut up. I wouldn't suggest racing to check this out. It's a good have on in the background type of movie.
