The Review: Agatha All Along

Agatha All Along 4/10

Yeah, a 4/10 for this show. After watching this with L. and then looking at the episodes which are ten I figured that out of those that was the amount that were interesting to me. This season felt so stop and go and out of order. Seriously, I would had made the last episode the first one. I am gonna try and look at each character, describe what I know about them, and how their story ended. I said I am gonna try. I likely will not succeed.

Agatha starts off with her being a detective and trying to solve a woman's murder. This boy shows up and she is interrogating him when he starts chanting and it wakes her up. Another cop shows up and they have a history with one another. Agatha snaps out of it and realizes she is still in Westview under Wanda's spell. She gathers a coven and begins traveling on The Road to get her powers back. She is sarcastic and unlikable. I realized that she never grew through the season and became a worse person. As I told L. she is a one note character and some of the better episodes had less of her and showcased the other witches. We find out what happened to her son who somehow manifested out of nowhere and showed us a five minute scene of her moaning in the woods giving birth to him. We see her using him to lure witches for her to steal their life and power to her. I have zero desire to see her appear again in any MCU capacity. Her shits not cute. Oh, and she dies and comes back as a ghost.

Teen aka William Kaplan aka Billy Maximoff is the guy that snapped Agatha out of her spell. Find out that he was a normal kid that died in a car accident while his parents took their eyes off the road and crashed. Billy took over his body and wants to find where his twin brother is. Turns out that this season and The Road was all about him. He is naturally powerful like Wanda was. He was binded so that when he said his name Agatha could not hear it. Not sure why Agatha was needed for him overall but they had to tie the shows together. No desire to see where his story goes.

Sharon is the neighbor that was also on Wandavision. She is not a witch and brought the humor to the show. She ends up dying unnecessarily thereby ruining the funny on the show because Agatha was written not as funny as I think the writers thought she was.

Jennifer is a potion witch whose full story remains a mystery to me. Not sure where her Road story was but we discover that a hundred years ago Agatha bound her power. She gets her powers back, digs herself out the ground, and flies away like Iron Man. Top three best looking women in the MCU.

Alice got the least amount of...everything I guess. Her mom sang The Road song but we find out Agatha made it a hundred years ago with her song to lure witches. She ends up trying to save Agatha and her powers get sucked away and she dies. Even when she is dead she is pissed about it. I barely even remembered her name when watching. I felt nothing when she died.

Lilia got a whole episode explaining her power of shouting random shit and it making sense later on. She became interesting to me too late because by the time she was explained she died. The fact that she and the other witches even trusted Agatha makes zero sense. She remembers that she is the one that bound Billy when he was 13 the day he died.

Rio is summoned after Sharon dies. She appears and disappears when it is convenient to the story. We find out that she is Death but I am not sure what version of it she is supposed to be. She had a relationship with Agatha and not sure how that happened because much like Agatha's origins it is never shown. Death says that Billy broke the rules coming back and taking a dead kids body. She takes Agatha over billy in the end. Its a whole mess.

Six of what I think are fourteen shows that the MCU has done have been not good or so bad I stopped watching and read about to see if I needed any new information for upcoming movies. All of the information I do find out just makes me groan and plan to miss a lot of new stuff coming out. So what did I want from this series? I wanted Agatha's actual past explored. I wanted to see her relationship with her mother and original coven she killed on Wandavision. I wanted to know exactly what her powers were. She takes power and life from witches. I got that. But what for? Does it make her more powerful? What does her being more powerful mean? She doesn't want to die and move on because she doesn't want to face her son she loves so much? Agatha is not a good person and is not likable.
