This is the first of three things L and I watched This is a three part documentary about a podcast that uncovered this lady that went from Brazil, moved to DC with a maid, tortured her, and then ran away back to Brazil living in this formerly lavish home. We got to hear from her on the podcast as well as interviews with the servant. There was so much failure on too many people's parts and it got to the point where I started victim blaming. We didn't even bother to finish the last episode. I know I put DNF but this is a 2/10 for me personally.
Thanksgiving Roast DNF/10
We started roasting this movie during the credits. We see a guy propose to a woman in a new house that she never saw. Guess he knows her tastes. She says he needs to get approval from her father that he has never met. The fuck?! Not even on FaceTime?! Then we meet who turns out to be her brother having sex with two women. A man shows up and has sex with the women as the guy hides under the bed and gets caught and makes fun of the guy as he brags about all he did with the women. We had to stop this shit. It was filmed horribly. Sound was shit. Theme song was ass. Just screw this nonsense. Not everyone should be allowed near the technology to make a “movie.” This for sure would have been 0/10.
Finding Joy DNF/10
This one we made it half an hour before checking out the predictable ending. This woman named Joy lets her boss steal all her fashion designs. Her two friends are with her and are shitty. I have friends. I would never have friends like the ones in this. Joy likes this guy and thinks that they are officially dating. He tells her that she is his best woman and like one of the guys. He invites her to his family in Colorado for something. She heads there pretty much wearing lingerie and is told that the guy wants her to be his best woman in his wedding. We could not figure out how she read a situation this badly unless she was just dumb. Like super dumb. She gets upset and jumps out the window and rents a car. Everyone tells her there is a terrible storm coming.
Joy drives around and ends up sinking in a lake with her car. She wakes in a cabin where this guy is trying to keep her warm. She thinks he is a killer and runs outside and then comes back. She then mocks his lifestyle after he saved her. She mad he has no vegan options. She is just a piece of shit, really. Her friends suck, too. At the end of course Joy and cabin man get married. Don't care. This would have gotten a -1/10.
