This movie was ass and a complete waste of the talented actors and actresses in it. This is about a guy named Nathan Caine that is an assistant bank manager that suffers from CIPA. This is when you can't feel pain. He lives his life very cautiously so much so that he sets a timer to go to the bathroom so his bladder doesn't burst because he can not feel he has to go. This is a real thing that exists in varying degrees and has been used in movies and books before. This co-worker named Sherry invites him to lunch and he works up the nerve to do it. She asks him to try some pie. He says he can't because he might bite his tongue off. He tries it. He doesn't bite his tongue off. He likes pie. He meets up for a art show with Sherry where he bumps into a guy from school who punches him back “just like old times.” Sherry pranks the guy and she and Nathan head to his place for the sex. She has cuts all over her stomach. Eeeeeverybody hurts...
Next day bank is robbed by Santas. Manager gets killed and Sherry taken hostage. Nathan takes a cops gun and car who was shot and the rest of the movie is him hunting for the guys while getting mangled in various ways he can't feel. Oh, and Sherry's brother was one of the robbers. It was a whole set up. I saw it from the start because they did nothing to build their relationship and why they are into each other. If they had done like the movie Nobody and showed his life for a bit before jumping into the other shit maybe this would have been more watchable. Nathan of course saves Sherry and kills multiple bad guys (and tortures one) before being arrested and given probation while Sherry gets a year in jail. The fuck?!
As it was presented he gets dumber as the movie goes on. Just because you can't feel pain doesn't mean you should stuck your hand into boiling grease or take a arrow to the leg and be like “Aw, shucks.” He just jabs himself with adrenaline which is laying around like street meat in a video game for a boost of energy. I'm not saying this needed to be some amazing think piece. This felt like a bootleg Guns Akimbo but not as good. There are about five people in this movie that I enjoyed in other films and series that were completely below this shit. It wasn't funny enough to make me laugh and the action was not anything special where I thought “At least that looked cool.” Seriously. Showing a day in his life or a flashback to his childhood would have helped so much.
