KPop Demon Hunters 9/10
I had no right to enjoy this movie as much as I did. I had heard about it but knew nothing about it and decided to check it out last week. This movie has everything. Six eyed crows. Demons. Swords. Rapping. Singing. Cross-eyed blue tiger. So years ago demons were just all over the planet cutting up led by Gwi-Ma. Three women got together like “Fuck all this!” and sealed up all the demons with this magical barrier called Honmoon. For years this has been a thing and they hope to one day get it to the point its a Golden Honmoon which will lock the demons away forever. These three girls named Mira, Rumi, and Zoey are the current demon hunters as well as a group that is insanely popular called Huntr/x. Their guide is named Celine. She knows that secretly Rumi is part demon because her mama I guess just wanted to take a walk on the wild side. Zoey and Mira don't know she has any demon in her because if they did they would kill her.
As the band performs and fights demons (fans don't know this is a thing) down in hell or whatever Gwi-Ma is pissed that his demons just keep failing. One demon steps up saying he has a plan: a boy band. His name is Jinu and when he steps out of line Gwi-Ma reminds him that he let his mother and sister die while he attained freedom and foods and stuffs. Jinu shows up and his new band, Raja Boys, become instant stars and immediately rival Huntr/x in popularity. The girls discover that these boys are all demons and wanna kill them. Jinu finds out that Rumi is a demon and calls her out on it saying he will reveal it. She tries to get him to change his ways but he says he can't. During a big performance the demons pose as Zoey and Mira and starts ripping Rumi's clothes off revealing that she has demon markings. The others see and are gonna kill her ass.
Rumi leaves as she starts to get all evil and cool looking and confronts Celine and says she should have killed her when she was younger. She heads back to the show and rocks the fuck outta the place as her friends rejoin her. Gwi-Ma shows up because the fans have all been getting kidnapped and having their souls snatched so he is strong. He attacks Rumi and Jinu sacrifices himself to help her. The band is altogether now and create a new Honmoon. Rumi shows off her cool marks and everyone is happy. I was happy. You were happy. This movie was awesome. The animation was cool. The music was ridiculously catchy. I plan on watching this again and was THIS close to ordering a Raja Boys shirt. I'm too old to wear a Raja Boys shirt.
