All the spoilers. My lady and I watched this crazy ass six part series on Netflix recently. This lady named Anna returns to Atlanta to get her job back as a news anchor. The problem is that she has been missing for a year and someone else has the job now (naturally). Soon as she gets back there has been a murder in town of a well known woman named Rachel. Anna's estranged husband Jack is a detective in this place, Dahlonega, and is investigating with his new partner from Boston named Priya. So far we know that Anna knew Rachel and Jack was boning down with her. Rachel was married to a very well known business man. Oh, and when I said that Jack was boning down with Rachel I meant very recently as in the same night she was murdered. Rachel was stabbed 40 fucking times so whoever did it was not playing around.
Anna stays in town as the police start gathering evidence. Anna wants to cover the case and have sex with her cameraman who is also the husband of the woman, Lexy, that replaced Anna. Turns out that Jack and Anna had a daughter that died at less than a year old and Anna just up and vanished for a while. During flashbacks in various episodes we learn that Anna's mother brought her to this fancy school where she met these other young girls who would all end up dead by the time this show was over. L and I were trying to figure out who the hell the killer was. I was thinking Jack for a while because as the show progressed he did more and more guilty looking shit. For instance, after interrogating Rachel's husband Rachel's phone is found in Jack's car. He sees that the husband keeps calling it even after being told to stop so that the battery wouldn't die. Jack also sneaks into the morgue and opens Rachel's dead ass eyes to get the phone to unlock.
Jack lives at home with his sister Zoe and her young daughter who is just precocious enough to not be annoying. After being asked for a DNA swab from everyone at the crime scene Jack ends up using his niece for it. He also finds video of Rachel's husband doing some freaky shit on the phone as well as blackmail evidence. Priya is asking the right questions and following the right leads during all of this and Jack keeps trying to throw her off because she is closing in on something that is gonna get him in jail. Anna's mother is suffering from dementia and is out wandering the streets butt booty ass naked. Jack's sister has a drinking problem and doesn't even know who the father of her child is.
In another flashback we see this new girl named Catherine that gets bullied by Rachel and the other girls but not Anna. They make her drink pee, booze, and on her birthday (same day as Anna's) they go to the middle of nowhere and some grown ass dudes show up for some sexual assault that was planned out. They were gonna get Catherine but Anna ended up having it done to her. One by one these women are murdered including Jack's sister Zoe. Who is this killer that is able to get into these homes and work without being found or leaving a trace? I was gonna spoil it but now I don't want to. I will say that in the finale you have every single question answered and people I thought weren't shit were not quite as not shit as I thought and these murders were super justified. L also wanted me to point out that one of the funniest parts of this was a Black news reporter named Brennan Dunnington. We both were like “Brennan what?!” when he said his name. There was quite a lot to like about this. Trying to solve the mystery of who the killer was and why they did it. The acting was good. Great pacing. If you like drama and crime this is for you. My lady also wants it known that she figured out who the killer was while I was blaming multiple people.
