This was a really good movie. After watching the first movie years ago and then more recently with my lady we found out that they were making a sequel which was confusing considering how the first movie ended. How in the hell could they begin to make another one? Turns out they could make a very good one. This takes place four years after the last movie in the early 80s. Finney is an angry ass kicker now. His dead friend Robin's brother Ernesto likes Finney's sister and invites her to a show. Finney's sister Gwen is having dreams about old murders happening in the woods from the 1950s. Gwen signs up as a camp counselor in training after discovering that her mother worked there when she was younger. Finney wants no part of this but decides to go. Its a super Christian camp. They get through this crazy ass storm and arrive. There are no kids there because of the snow storm.
Gwen is having her dreams hardcore style and sleep walking seeing these different boys being murdered and etching an initial in the ice from a lake. This guy Armando remembers Finney and Gwen's mother from when she worked there. These other bible thumpers don't wanna talk about anything bad that happened at the camp. They get theirs later and it felt good. Meanwhile Finney starts hearing the payphone that doesn't work ringing and its The Grabber on the other end of the line. Finney has been hearing phones since before this but he just ignores the phone or picks it up and says he can't help. The Grabber tells him that he plans on hurting Finney for not just killing him but “making” The Grabber kill his own brother. The Grabber is on some Nightmare on Elmstreet shit where he can attack Gwen in her dreams and it manifests in the real world.
=As the movie continues Gwen is shown by The Grabber that her mother did not kill herself but she, using her abilities, had found where boys were being kept and she was taken and hung by The Grabber back in the day. Turns out The Grabber was a dude that worked at the camp with everyone and killed the three boys and sunk them in the lake. The last twenty minutes of this movie are insane. Got ghost skating happening. Gwen and Finney's father shows up to help out after being convinced that his daughter is not crazy like he thought her mom was. The Grabber gets his entire ass kicked. I hope they don't make another one of these. As much as I liked this I feel like they managed to cover the spectrum of where they could go with this. The kids in this acted their asses off and The Grabber is an amazing villain.
