Okay. So when L and I watched this I knew who was starring in it and as the movie began had some basic idea of what it was possibly about. Woman named Asia and her younger sister we thought was her daughter are on the run from their abusive father. He finds them at a store and as he is about to capture them Asia shoots him and he grabs the younger sister Maria. Asia is like "Deuces!" and leaves her sister behind. Years later Asia been in and out of jail I guess and learning every fighting technique known to man. She gets into this place called The Virgil by stealing someone's identity.
Once inside she is shown around. All the maids are Black and Latino which ain't new information. She gets to her spooky ass room and someone writes the name of this movie on the mirror but she doesn't see it. That night a pig man licks her foot as she sleeps and attacks her. More pig people come and it is a bloodbath. She survives injuries no one could and kills them. She leaves the room and they all come back to life. She discovers that her sister is there and searches for her fighting immortal people. She gets help from the husband of the lady running the place. They find her sister and she is like "Fuck you for leaving me." Asia knocks her out and tries to escape. The rest of the movie is bloody fights and horrible music. Like distractedly horrible. She ends up caught with her sister, fights immortals at the behest of a pig head that has a demon in it and the names of immortals written on it. Her sister writes Asia's name on it so now she immortal. Asia slices her name off and fights pig head demon who is using evil lady's body. Oh and Maria dies. Asia kills everyone and writes her sisters name on hers so she alive again. The end.
This movie was a mix of a lot of other good movies (Kill Bill, John Wick, Hong Kong cinema) but executed terribly. This could have been a half hour segment in a compilation. There was not enough lore given to explain this and when they tried it was squeezed between insane fights that were meant to be cool. Zero build of tension or suspense since she is attacked hours after arriving. Plus, Asia seemed damn near immortal before she actually was. I couldn't suggest this to anyone but an enemy.
