The Review: Ready Or Not 2 Here I Come

Ready Or Not 2 Here I Come 4/10

Last weekend L and I watched Ready Or Not 2. I liked the first one and was confused that there was even room for a sequel. Turns out that was very much the case with this. It didn't need to be made much like how I felt with Megan 2. This starts immediately after the first movie with Grace sitting on the steps of the burning mansion. Police arrive and she faints and wakes in the hospital. She is handcuffed to the hospital bed and covered in injuries. Her sister shows up. Yes, she has a sister. Now this sucks and I wish they hadn't added this character. Her name is Faith. Just realized that I didn't like this actress because she was in Ant Man and The Wasp and Abigail. I feel better now. Seriously couldn't figure out why she bugged me.

Meanwhile at the Hall of Justice an old man makes a phone call and gets a cease fire overseas. He got that kinda stroke. His son and daughter walk in and he lets them know that the Le Domas family (the one Grace killed by not letting them kill her) are gone and now there is a seat at the Council table. He then tells them to get it over with and his son and daughter smother him to death. All over the world other families are being told about the open seat and they all gather. At the hospital one dude tries to kill Grace and gets blown up by Le Bail because the game hadn't started yet. Grace is captured by the lawyer of the council and she is brought to an estate and told that the game must take place once again. They handcuff Grace to Faith and the hunt begins. They even made her wear her crispy, bloody dress from the first film.

The rest of the movie is a more extreme version of the first film which took place maybe two days ago. Unless Grace is a character from an MCU film there is no fucking way she should have been able to survive the amount of damage done to her body. Her relationship with her sister did nothing to help this story at all. Running from people with swords and rocket launchers but, yeah, lets stop to talk about why you abandoned me. I super didn't give a damn. This just felt like a strange cash grab of a movie and the idea of “Hey, lets just do more of what we did the first time!” but when the first time was so out there and absurd its a big hill to climb. This is one of those the longer I sat on it the less I liked the movie. Most interesting person was the lawyer. What's his deal?
