M3GAN 2.0 (6/10)
Yesterday my lady and I watched M3GAN 2.0 (and like the last movie I will not keep writing her name like that). While I enjoyed it I liked the first movie a bit more. This one starts off with this lady assassin named AMELIA doing a mission and kicking all kinds of ass. When she gets to the part where she is going to rescue who she came for she kills him instead and goes rogue. The people controlling her are like “What the hell is going on?!” Great question. Meanwhile back at home Gemma, who created Megan, is giving talks about the dangers or technology for children and making a lot of good points. Cady seems to be adjusting well and studying computer science and taking self defense classes.
A team of FBI agents try to break into her house during the night to steal a laptop when the house starts helping defend against them. They want Gemma's help stopping Amelia. Megan reveals that she has been around the whole time and can help. Gemma puts her into this little robot because she don't trust her. One of Gemma's coworkers is trying to work for this new tech dude named Alton and she takes his key card. Megan finds out that Amelia is there after she murders the man.
I am gonna just skip through the rest because this movie seemed longer than it needed to be. Gemma's dude that she likes turns out to be evil. Gemma likes to make plans and do things without telling anyone and it always backfires. I kept thinking “Wow. Gemma should not be in charge of a child!” She is the worst guardian! She thinks everything she does is for the best and ends up having to be saved. I felt that this movie was too big for a part two. There needed to be a short film or mini series between this and the first film. It felt like such a massive jump in terms of story telling. There wasn't as much horror or humor as the first movie and not enough Megan. Just a lot of “You're evil.” “I'm not.” “You are. I don't trust you.” “Okay. I saved you again.” “Because you want me to trust you and then betray me because you're still evil.” “Okay...”
