The Review: Anaconda

Anaconda 8/10

L and I watched this crazy ass movie for some reason. My cousin said it was funny so I was willing to give it a try. This group of friends decide to make a movie after watching one they made as children. Doug wanted to be a director and is currently making wedding announcement videos that are too weird for his customers. Ronald is an extra in TV shows and not happy. Kenny is the camera man who loves the drinking and drugs. Claire is their actress and currently a lawyer. Ronald says that he bought the rights to the Anaconda movie franchise and they decide to head to Brazil and make a movie. There is also a side story with this lady named Ana that is a freedom fighter. Right?

So they get down to Brazil and meet with Santiago. He has a big ass snake for the movie to use which Ronald ends up killing so they go hunting for a new snake. They end up meeting this snack that is the size of a damned dinosaur and madness ensues. Ronald leaves the group at one point because the movie is becoming more about Ana being a bad ass. The group finds out that a production of Anaconda is being done and that Ronald lied about having the film rights. That new production ends up killed by the snake. Santiago is killed. Doug ends up eaten and believed dead. The group finds his body as well as a wart hog and decide to use him as bait. Doug not dead. He wakes running from the snake in a scene that cracked me the hell up.

This movie was silly as hell but just the right amount to where it didn't feel too long (comedies don't need to be long) and only kept references to the first movie because y'all don't even know how many of these movies came out that no one knows or talks about. Hell, even Ice Cube shows up. This movie was done in a creative way to get interest in the previous films as well as manage to be original.
