The Review: Widow's Bay

Widow's Bay 9/10

I would suggested watching this series Widow's Bay (on Apple TV which means I signed up for a week long trail) and after hearing about how well the show was received decided to check it out. L made it through one episode and decided that she didn't want to continue. I did and ended up finishing the last nine episodes this weekend. I don't tend to binge watch shows but this one is such an easy and fast watch that I did not realize how quickly I was plowing through it. I read today that there is going to be a second season and even if there was not I could imagine slightly how the town would have carried on after the finale. This is going to be full of spoilers.

The Review: The Changeling

The Changeling 2/10

The more I talk and think about this series the more annoyed I get so I have to hurry up and do this before my brain drifts over into “I just don't care to write about this” mode. Let me explain why I didn't give this a 0/10 or a 1/10. I finished it and it started off well. The first three episodes of this had me intrigued as fuck. Then I was confused but still interested. Then they just started having episode after episode of more questions for an eight episode series and the fucking nerve to have the finale be less than half an hour following a 70 minute episode that explained one question.

The Review: Roar

Roar DNF/10

So a few weeks back L. found this series called Roar on Apple+. I had not heard of it and after watching just two episodes I will say that I wish I had not even watched the damn thing. Some stuff just ain't made for me and judging by these two episodes this is one of them. Each episode is a different story of varying lengths and the first I will talk about probably needed about another twenty minutes to make sense.

The Review: The Tragedy Of Macbeth

The Tragedy Of Macbeth 9/10

I'm not gonna sit here and recap the entire The Tragedy Of Macbeth because I know better. I watched this with L. on Apple and really liked it. The way acting and the way it looked were incredible. Thankfully I still understand what they are saying and even got to use this ability while watching. It felt like I was watching a play starring some great stars and a lot of surprises appearing throughout. If you have a chance to check this out you really should even if its hard to understand it is nice to look at. This along with some other films I have seen recently and will be reviewing soon would have made my best of list if I had seen them before the end of the year.

The Review: Schmigadoon

Schmigadoon! 8/10

This was a damn good series. L. and I decided to check this out and also make fun of the fact that many of my musical references come from watching The Simpsons. Schmigadoon is about this couple named Melissa and Josh who are in a relationship that is kind of in neutral. They go to a retreat and while on a hike walk through some fog and end up in this weird ass town where they are greeted with with an entire ass musical performance. They discover that they can not leave this place until they find their true love and after trying to cross the bridge and being stuck they see that they aren't each others even though they think they are. This is a funny show with some really good musical numbers. I laughed out loud many times. This was on Apple so chances are a lot of people either didn't see it or likely don't know it exists.
