Sitting In The Aisle: John Wick Chapter 3 Parabellum

John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum 10/10

This is gonna be full of spoilers. I fucking loved this movie. I liked but had some complaints about the first one and loved the second. I was hype as shit when I heard this one was coming out and avoided spoilers. I knew a horse would be involved because the trailer and a crazy ass motorcycle chase. I can not believe that after three movies I am still wanting to see more of this character. Hell, I made a Perler bead design of him a while ago. I went to see this at the AMC up on Sunset and the theater was quiet at first but started to get hype as the movie went on. But seriously. Those half hour worth of trailers and commercials is way too much. Now on to the review!

This takes place almost an hour after the last film. Love it. John Wick is still battered and fucked up after everything that happened previously. Remember, he was given an hour to run by Winston after being declared excommunicado for killing that asshole dude Santino D'Antonio. He and his dog are running through the city as the clock ticks down. We see that place where contracts are drawn up are processing his shit. John heads to the library by taxi and leaves his dog in the cab telling the driver where to take him. Of course the driver is a part of the secret underground world and takes the coin. John grabs a book that has some extra coins, a marker coin, a necklace with a cross, and a photo of his wife. This giant asshole shows up like “They wont know if I kill you early so I might as well try.” John ends up beating this guys ass with a book but not before getting stabbed in the shoulder. Hell, the contract is for $14 million so I get it.

John finds this guy who fixes hurt people and he is worried about helping John. He is like “I got five more minutes!” The guy stitches him up as John counts down the time as well as the main office. The guy who helps John says that he will be killed for helping and asks him to hurt him. He tells John where to shoot him and he does and wishes John good luck. Its fucking crazy and I love secret words with rules. John ends up fighting some more gangs who chase him an while they are on their way he puts together a gun and takes them out. It is an amazing fight scene. Every fight in this looks amazing and I was never bored. There are more knife fights in this and way more brutal kills. He stabs a guy slowly in the eye with a knife and you see the shit very clearly.

This lady known as The Adjudicator shows up at The Continental. She is there to let Winston know he is in trouble for disobeying The High Table and giving John an hour to escape. He has seven days to get his shit in order. John heads to The Director and flashes his necklace with a cross. They let him in and The Director is like “You use to belong here but I do not have to help you and you even being here could get us all killed.” John hands over the cross, known as a ticket, and they stick it on a poker and burn the center of his back over his tattoo. He is officially out of these folks lives.

John gets passage to Casablanca and is immediately attacked. He is saved by a guy who lets the attackers know he is cool...right now. One dude still tries and gets his face blown off by the guy who takes John to meet Sofia. John says hello as her dogs wanna eat all of his ass. She shoots him in the chest (bullet proof coat!) and wants him to leave. John does the same shit that the guy who got him into all this trouble did and cashes in his favor with the coin. She does not want it nor does she want to know where her daughter is because she knows she will try to find her and end up getting her killed. John wants a meeting with the head of The High Table to get out of this jam. They leave and meet with this asshole who wants one of Sofia's dogs. She says no and the dog is shot. The theater gasped. The dog is wearing a bulletproof vest with a gun hidden underneath. John looks at her like “Don't...” and she starts blasting away. There is a lot of shooting, faces being blown off, and dogs eating folks dicks. So much dick biting! They escape and she leaves John in the desert.

The Adjudicator visits The Bowery King and lets him know he is in trouble for giving John the gun he used to kill that D'Antonio guy. He's like “Muthafucka I am the streets!” The Adjudicator finds this crazy ass sushi dude named Zero and hires him. Now this guy. He has a crew of students that are awesome as fuck. One of them straight up blends into the background so easily he seems to appears out of nowhere. Multiple times. Zero admires John Wick and looks forward to facing him. He is crazy but provides some good laughs in this. John wanders the desert until he is found and dumped where The Elder is. The Elder says that John can get back in but has to kill Winston and return back to work. I thought for a second he would say no but he cuts his damned ring finger off and has it burned closed. He gives the ring to The Elder and arrives back in the city.

John and Zero's gang get into it on motorcycles. Wait. The horse scene. He ends up in a stable and smacks horses asses to use them as weapons. He weaponizes horses! They straight up kick a dudes face off! I said “Ow! Ow!” when it happened and started laughing. John and Zero end up crashing in front of The Continental. Just when Zero is about to kill him John places his hand on the steps and Charon welcomes him inside. John and Zero sit down and John's dog is eleven kinds of happy to see him. Zero says he and John are the same and sits way too close to him. John meets with Winston who says he does not plan on giving up The Continental and wants to wage war against them. The Adjudicator sees that Winston is not giving up his spot and John wont kill Winston so now it is time for some soldiers to show up and wreck shit. Loved seeing Charon getting a chance to shoot some bitches.

I wont say anymore about this and I left a bunch of crazy shit out. This has the potential to be done or have maybe one more movie. I love seeing how many levels to this crazy High Table world there is. That no matter how crazy your ass wants to be that you follow the rules. The music in this was cool as hell and the action has gotten better with each film. This movie is in its own world and I love it. Even when they are in the regular world they try to kill in not too obvious ways. Unless there are horse/motorcycle chases. That was public as shit. I loved this movie and am super happy that I got to watch this in a theater. Go see this as soon as you can. If you liked the first two movies you should like this one too. I sure as fuck did.
