The Review: Lucifer Season 1

The first season of Lucifer on Fox wrapped up and I didn't realize it. I was waiting to watch it and some other show debuted which if course made me go “Only on Fox!” thinking it was already canceled or doing like The Flash and taking a month off in the middle of the season. This wasn't the case. Its been green-lit for a second season which is cool. I wrote about the pilot a while back (click here to check that out) and other than one actor being switched the cast is pretty much the same and sadly so is the basic premise of weird guy helping solve crimes. That is a thing on too many shows now. Someone gets murdered and no one can figure out why until Captain Asperger appears.

The Review: Lucifer Pilot Episode

I watched the pilot episode for the new Fox series Lucifer starring Tom Ellis. This is based off of the character of Lucifer from comics but I don't have any strong attachment to that comic or character so if he is different than in the comic books I don't know other than that his hair is not blond. Plus, I don't care if the two things are different as long as it is good. Hell, I have seen Constantine with Keanu Reeves more times than almost any movie I have ever seen. Still can't explain that. The fact that this series is on Fox makes me nervous because they have a reputation for canceling shows I actually like. Profit, Space Above And Beyond were amazing but canned. If you have no idea what I'm talking about chances are you weren't born yet.

"Fighting Words!": Napoleon Dynamite Cartoon

I love how I attempt t trick myself into thinking things will work out. Work, relationships, and of course, the new Napoleon Dynamite cartoon on Fox. Let me state for the record that I did not like the movie. There was one scene (when his uncle hits him with a steak) that made me laugh but the rest of it was like being forced to spend 90 minutes watching what I knew was supposed to be entertaining but for some reason just wasn’t. It was bizarre for the sake of being bizarre.

TV Slut: I Hate My Teenage Daughter

There’s a new show on Fox that I’d seen commercials for and caught on accident called I Hate My Teenage Daughter. I hate to say it because I would love for Jaime Pressly who plays Annie to hate not boning me but this show sucked. I’m not gonna say to give it a chance because its new because she is not new to the TV game. She was on My Name Is Earl for years. The problem I have with this show is that I hate her teenage daughter too. I would like this show way more if it were just about her and her friend Nikki played by Katie Finneran. They are interesting and I was digging the show until their daughters showed up. Its funny because one of them is mixed and I was like “Her mom is super White and yet her hair is taken care of…” which we all know is a lie. I had two mixed ex’s and their White mothers could not handle that hair.

"Fighting Words!": Terra Nova

If you know me then you know that I like making uninformed comments. Do you think I’m gonna wait till that show Terra Nova starts to start talking about how ridiculous it looks? You must be crazy! When I first saw the commercial for this I thought it was for a Jurassic Park series or something. That film set the bar high in terms of special effects and how a dinosaur should look.
