The Review: The Mighty Quinn

The Mighty Quinn 3/10

This movie didn't make a lick of sense. L. had me watch The Mighty Quinn last weekend and all I knew was that Denzel had a Jamaican accent. And by an accent I mean his sounds worse than mine. It just comes and goes throughout the movie. He plays a chief of police named Xavier Quinn. No one listens to or respects him. He shows up and stops a stabbing at a wedding and gives the guy his knife back. There has been a murder and they are trying to pin it on his childhood friend, Maubee. Oh, Maubee. The clothes. The hair! Oh, my god, the hair.

This movie is just a bunch of obvious bad guys doing bad guy shit and Quinn running from a woman that wants to bone him, his weird relationship with his wife and son, and some white lady that wants to sleep with him. Turns out they did and it was cut from the film. The gist of this is that there are $10,000 bills that need to be used illegally and Maubee stole them and is being blamed for murdering a guy that was already dead from a snake bite from a voodoo granny and had his head chopped off and thrown into a Jacuzzi. The ending was weird, the start was weird, this entire movie was weird.
