The Review: The New Mutants

The New Mutants 2/10

This movie was dumb. Now, I had heard about this years ago and complained about them holding it back from release forever until releasing it while the world is dealing with a pandemic. I had heard reviews about The New Mutants and none made it sound good. Fans of the comics said it was confusing. I can attest to that fact. This movie was baffling on so many levels. It starts with Dani being woken by her father because something is attacking her reservation. She gets chased, knocked out, and wakes up tied to a bed at a hospital that is obviously not really a hospital. Dr. Reyes (who as far I know from the comics was a good lady) tells her everyone is dead and that she has powers and needs to learn how to control them. What are her powers? Not quite sure.

The Review: Mortal Kombat (2021)

Mortal Kombat 6/10

Full of spoilers. This was a fun-ish movie. Let me just get that out of the way first. The biggest problem I have with it is this weird thing that is going on in a lot of movies where the main character has no personality. They are just a tool to keep the movie going. Also, the fact that I would have 100% rather have seen the story that began this movie instead of anything after. It begins in Japan hundreds of years ago with Hanzo (aka Scorpion) living a nice ass life with his wife and children. He goes to get some water when Bi-Han (Sub-Zero) assassinates them. Hanzo comes home and starts slicing ninjas to death in a very cool scene. He sees his family frozen in ice and has a cool fight with Sub-Zero who ends up slicing him up and leaves. Hanzo crawls towards his house hearing his baby crying (mama hid her under the house) before dying. Raiden shows up and takes the child away.

The Review: Who Killed Sara?

Who Killed Sara? MESSY/10

Full of spoilers. I watched this a week ago and the Wiki page for this series Who Killed Sara? on Netflix has no episode breakdowns so I am gonna go based on what I remember about ten episodes of a show in Spanish that is fucking crazy. This is about a guy named Alex whose sister Sara gets killed during a boat trip after she falls from a parachute that looks to have had the rope and harness cut. Each episode introduces more suspects so do not waste your time trying to play detective because you will be consistently wrong every 40 minutes of this.

The Review: Made For Love S1E1

"User One"

L. and I started watching this new series Made For Love on HBO Max the other day. It was insane. There are six episodes out right now but we checked out the first two which was very easy considering they are less than half an hour long which made me cheer inside. This is about a woman named Hazel Green-Gogol who seems to have a perfect life with her tech husband Byron Gogol. Everything is monitored. The love in a place called The Hub where even the sky is fake. She chills poolside reading magazines while a dolphin swims laps in the pool. Her orgasms are even monitored and she is required to rate them and make suggestions. Its fucking weird. The show goes back and forth through time showing some aspects of her childhood and parts of her and Byron's relationship. At a gathering for shareholders and such Byron announces that he has a new product called Made For Love where you and someone else will see, hear, feel, and know everything about one another at all times. Its a camera and recording device for a human. Also a GPS. Its creepy. This begins with Hazel coming out of a hatch in the middle of a desert and giving the finger to her home and hitching a ride.

The Review: Falcon And The Winter Soldier S1E2-E4

The Star-Spangled Man”

My late ass. I haven't stopped watching this show, I just haven't been writing about it. I have also been watching other shows. On this episode The new Cap aka Walker is interviewed and they talk about what a great soldier he was. I don't care. I don't like him. He got obvious anger issues of some kind that are gonna show up. The Flag Smashers and their leader this super soldier woman named Karli are stealing some medicine when Bucky and Falcon show up to stop them. Suddenly Walker (I ain't calling him Captain America) and his partner Lemar show up and shit gets out of hand. The bad guys get away and Walker wants Bucky and Sam to work with him. They want none of his shit. Bucky knows someone they should talk to so he and Sam head there and meet this old man named Isaiah. Turns out he was tested on for the super soldier program and they put him in prison for thirty years and used his blood.

The Review: Godzilla Vs. Kong

Godzilla Vs. Kong 1/10

Full of spoilers and I don't care. This movie was trash. Its not like I expected an award winning movie or anything. I just wanted to see Godzilla and King Kong just beat the shit out of each other for ninety minutes. I knew that they would have to have stupid human stories thrown in just like with previous films but, damn. The humans in this were worthless. I liked the first Godzilla movie back in 2014 and thought the 2020 version (click here for that) was absolute garbage. I didn't see that latest Kong film even though I have had many chances to. I just don't care for Kong like that. So I ended up watching this in two parts because I was ready to quit watching it after just a little over half an hour.
