Is God Is 9/10

A few weeks ago L and I watched this movie called Is God Is. This is one of the movies I wanted to watch when it was in theaters but never got around to it. This is about these twin sisters named Racine and Anaia. One of them gets called ugly when they're children and the other sister gets up and just starts beating the hell out of these kids. We fast forward to them as adults and they get a letter from their mother. They thought their mother had died in the fire when they were little which is why each of them have burns on their faces, arms, and back. They go and meet their mother who they call God and she lets them know that they need to go and kill their father who did this to them. Anaia is the more squeamish of the two of them and has no idea how they are going to try and kill someone. Their mother reveals that injuries to her body which we don't see but it is enough to convince them that, yeah, they need to kill their father.

The Review: Practical Magic

Practical Magic 8/10

A couple of weeks ago L and I watched this crazy movie called Practical Magic. I had heard of this film but did not know who was in it or what it was about. In the late '90s so I knew it was going to be weird. This starts off with a witch being hung named Maria Owens. She ends up surviving when the rope snaps after she steps off and all the towns people take off running. The father of her baby ends up dying and she makes a spell to keep herself from ever falling in love. Over time this jacked up spell ends up becoming a curse and now any man who falls in love with her descendants will die after this crazy little beetle starts chirping. We fast forward to these two sisters named Sally and Gillian and one day their mother hears the bug and their dad ends up dying. I forget how the mom dies actually. So they move in with their two crazy aunts named Francis and Jet. These two odd ladies are all about magic and letting the kids enjoy themselves while also dealing with everyone in town who thinks that they are witches and talks trash to the little girls.

Documentality: Death Of A Pastor's Wife

Death Of A Pastor's Wife 8/10

So me and my lady watch this insane documentary called Death Of A Pastor's Wife on Netflix. I was trying to figure out how I was going to even write this because it's hard to talk about it without inserting my own thoughts. This is about a lady named Mica Francis who started going to this guy named John-Paul Miller's church when she was 13 years old. John-Paul was married with four children and also had a child from a previous relationship. He starts having an affair with Mica and he and his wife get separated. By the way, it wasn't as if this pastor admitted to this affair. His wife found messages on his phone and there is video of him laying on his lawn crying like a little bitch. I wanted to elbow drop him when I was watching this. So he starts being with Mica out in public and dating her. By the way Michael was this guy's babysitter as well. And his now ex-wife looks like Mica. It's very creepy.

The Review: Mother Mary

This movie was ass. A few weeks ago we watched this movie called Mother Mary. Did not know anything about it but from the poster knew that it was starring one actress I knew and another that I had seen before and thought had a very creepy looking appearance. We ended up looking her up online and it turns out that she has or looks to have had some work done and comes across as very scary looking. I know that this movie is not about this actress and what she has done to herself allegedly. But I just had to point this out because as I watch the movie I kept being creeped out by the way she looked. This movie is about a pop star making a comeback after an incident on stage. I don't know why I'm being vague. It look like she tried to kill herself at one point. So she goes and finds her old costume designer named Sam and wants her to give her a new look before her next tour that starts in three days.

The Review: The Long Walk

The Long Walk 3/10

This is not going to be very long because I don't have too much to say about a movie that has such a basic plot. I ended up splitting this into two parts because I was waiting for it to improve and it just did not because the movie is what it is: a long walk. So the basic premise is that 50 boys from every state in America are picked and they have to keep a pace of three miles an hour and if they go slower than that after a few warnings they are shot and killed. The reason they are doing this is because the winner gets to make a wish. The story mainly focuses on one of the kids and I think the biggest surprise of this movie was how it ended. I believe I would have enjoyed this more if I had seen previous winners and/or what they receive for their wish. I wonder what is not allowed as a wish. I wonder what happens if you don't make a wish. How long until you have to make a wish? I didn't know enough about the characters or the history of this program to really care so when it ended I just shrugged. It is just “Hi, my name is Victim 12! I am gonna wish for money! Ow! My foot hurt!” Bang!!! This could have been a segment on a anthology series.

The Review: Good Boy

Good Boy 7/10

So last week L and I watched three movies. I watched one that she had already seen before. Out of all of them this was my favorite one. This is about a dog named Indy. All I knew about this movie was that it was a ghost story told through the perspective of a dog. I had already seen a movie that I really liked that was told through the perspective of a ghost so I was interested on how they were going to do this one. So there's this dude named Todd and we don't even see his face until the end of the movie that has a lung disease. For the longest time I thought he was a drug addict or something. Turns out that's not the case. The movie starts off with him just sitting up on his couch bleeding and this poor dog just staring at him until Todd's sister shows up and he goes to a hospital.

The Review: Widow's Bay

Widow's Bay 9/10

I would suggested watching this series Widow's Bay (on Apple TV which means I signed up for a week long trail) and after hearing about how well the show was received decided to check it out. L made it through one episode and decided that she didn't want to continue. I did and ended up finishing the last nine episodes this weekend. I don't tend to binge watch shows but this one is such an easy and fast watch that I did not realize how quickly I was plowing through it. I read today that there is going to be a second season and even if there was not I could imagine slightly how the town would have carried on after the finale. This is going to be full of spoilers.

The Review: Another Man's Wife

Another Man's Wife 0/10

So this past weekend we managed to watch two terrible movies. Another Man's Wife. It's about this guy who's crazy rich. He's a tech guy and he created a dating app. Next we have a couple named Maya and Shawn. Shawn works making video games (which to me at this point seems like a job that's not going to exist in like two years). Maya, I am not sure what job she has but it involves fundraising. Seriously sitting here right now I am not sure what this woman does for a living. So Shawn heads the work and he finds out that he's getting laid off because of the competition. He decides not to tell his wife about this. Oh, and he finds out that his mother has cancer. What kind of cancer does she have? They don't say. How long does she have to live? They make it seem as if she doesn't get treatment in an hour she's going to die. Meanwhile Maya got a promotion. She is having the best day ever and she gets home and Shawn is like “Oh my mama dying.” She feels terrible for him.

The Review: Mortal Kombat 2

I am not going to waste my time writing a lot about this movie. I love the 90s version of Mortal Kombat. I've even liked some of the animated films. The one that came out a few years ago was far better than it had any right to be. But this one I was worried about even from seeing the trailer. So I watch this yesterday and was so disappointed. The acting, the special effects, and the story were absolutely trash. I am not sure why they took such a huge step back from the previous film and making this one but it sucks. I have zero desire to see the upcoming Street Fighter film. I'm not sure what they need to do to make Mortal Kombat a watchable film other than duplicate what they did in the first one and enhance it.

Sitting In The Aisle: Spider-Man Brand New Day

Spider-Man Brand New Day 7/10

So I just watched the latest Spider-Man. Three people I know told me that I needed to see this movie and I was on the fence about it since I first saw the trailer. I tend to judge these movies based on how many goosebumps I get and I didn't get any watching it. The main reason is because of that Doomsday movie that's coming out later this year. To me there are no stakes because people can be brought back from other realities or just brought back to life. I used to read comic books all the time and I know that this happens in those, but with the films I actually like that there seem to be some form of permanence with these characters deaths. For as sad as it is that Aunt May died in December we can see her come back to life. So while watching this movie I did enjoy it but there was just a cloud of doubt that anything that actually happened in his film would have stakes.

The Review: The Vampire Lestat

The Vampire Lestat 10/10

It's hard to try and describe this show. The fact that a lot of it bounces through time makes it hard to try and talk about this in a linear fashion so I'm not gonna even try. So far this show has managed to do three incredible seasons. That is close to being unheard of in this day and age. I was worried that there would be little interaction between Louis or Daniel or Armand this season because I've read these books and I need to realize that they have done something so different with this series that it is gotten to a point that I and a lot of other people need to let those books go. I see so many arguments and anger about certain things that are changed when people either don't realize or seem to forget that Interview With The Vampire, Lestat, and Queen of the Damned are pretty much the only good books in that series that contains so many books. No, I do need to point out that the Mayfair Witches or the Witching Hour is a very good book but they have managed to make a horrible series out of it.

Okay. So when L and I watched this I knew who was starring in it and as the movie began had some basic idea of what it was possibly about. Woman named Asia and her younger sister we thought was her daughter are on the run from their abusive father. He finds them at a store and as he is about to capture them Asia shoots him and he grabs the younger sister Maria. Asia is like "Deuces!" and leaves her sister behind. Years later Asia been in and out of jail I guess and learning every fighting technique known to man. She gets into this place called The Virgil by stealing someone's identity.

Bang My Box The Robyn Byrd Story 9/10

This was a damn good documentary L suggested. This is about Robin Byrd. She hosted a public access series called The Robin Byrd Show in Manhattan where she spoke about sex, love, life, championed causes for the LGBTQ community, and safe sex. And this is something she kinda fell into. A show she had showed up on was being canceled (Hot Legs) and they just sorta threw her on and the show blew up. This show aired from 1977 to 1998. She went against the government during the shitty Ronald Reagan era (I shit you not when I was about 5 or 6 years old I wrote an article for the school paper about him titled “Bad Actor Makes Worse President”) and she won. Robin had been in adult films and would have adults performers on the show to just hang out, talk, dance, and speak with callers live on air. This could not exist now. People suck.

Documentality: The University of Cosmic Intelligence

Not too much to say about this as it was advertised as a documentary when it was more of a I guess “be on the look out for these missing people” type of thing. This dude Rashad Jamal from Chicago beats and strangles his woman. Years later he is Atlanta trying to rap. Meets this lady who has kids who wants to be a singer. They get together and have a kid. He starts making up all these conspiracy videos that get traction online talking about Black people being gods and Atlantis being where Atlanta now sits and all kinda weird shit. Its Pandemic time so everyone is going crazy and a bunch of crunchy Black folk start following him. He gets too nutty and molests his lady's daughter and eventually he is arrested for 18 years.

The Review: Project Hail Mary

Spoilers! This movie was so damn good. There are movies like this that come out maybe once every two years that make me go “Damn, I wish I had seen this in a theater!” or “I am so glad movies exist.” This movie is told out of order filling in blanks which L and I were thankful for because I kept wondering “Why is a teacher on a shuttle?” Yes. I watched Challenger blow up decades ago in school and there was a teacher on it. Shut it. Plus, this teacher Ryland Grace absolutely didn't want to go to space. He wasn't a science teacher that dreamed of one day heading into the cosmos. I should probably talk about what the plot of this movie is. I seriously was gonna just keep writing like a weirdo.

Last weekend L and I watched Ready Or Not 2. I liked the first one and was confused that there was even room for a sequel. Turns out that was very much the case with this. It didn't need to be made much like how I felt with Megan 2. This starts immediately after the first movie with Grace sitting on the steps of the burning mansion. Police arrive and she faints and wakes in the hospital. She is handcuffed to the hospital bed and covered in injuries. Her sister shows up. Yes, she has a sister. Now this sucks and I wish they hadn't added this character. Her name is Faith. Just realized that I didn't like this actress because she was in Ant Man and The Wasp and Abigail. I feel better now. Seriously couldn't figure out why she bugged me.

Bring Me the Beauties: A Model Cult 6/10

Over the last few weeks (pre Rhode Island vacation) L and I watched a few documentaries. This was the first. This former male model named Hoyt Richards ends up joining a spiritual cult. At one point he was the most famous male model in the world (I realized that other than Fabio who appears in this I barely know male models but knew most women). He left his home after being approached by the guy named Frederick von Mierers. This guy rounded up attractive people and had them help sell crystals and cassette tapes. Frederick is a weird dude and gathers everyone as they party and try to explain their beliefs to everyone. Its all nuts and I won't bother describing cause it sounds like every other weird cult. Past lives. Egypt. The usual. It wasn't like he had all his money stolen or was told what to do with his life really. This “cult” didn't seem all that bad honestly. Watched on HBO.

Curtain Call: Hell's Kitchen

Hell's Kitchen 9/10

This past weekend Cam took me to see this Hell's Kitchen play at The Pantages. Thankfully we found parking a few blocks away because their own parking is expensive as hell and ridiculous to get out of. We also stopped by Amoeba where she got a Rick James CD and I got a The Last Dragon shirt which drew too much attention when at The Grove with L. So we got to the show and I had no idea what the show was about other than it was loosely based on Alicia Keys' life. We had really good seats at a balcony where no one was in front of us which I am always a fan of.

Sitting In The Aisle: Masters Of The Universe

Spoilers. I know that I am writing this review based off of a lot of my own personal feelings and I super don't care because I got to see a cool ass He-Man movie that had everything I wanted and more. As a kid He-Man was one of my favorite cartoons. I had random toys (Ram Man being the best one) and have made dozens of Perler designs from the series. Dressed as Skeletor for Halloween once. When I was little there was a movie made and even back then I knew that movie was ass garbage from a human butt. So when this was fist announced I was nervous and then I saw the trailer and got all kinds of hype about it. L. and I went to see this at The Grove which I had not seen a movie at in a lot of years. And why I was there I managed to get a Skeletor bucket and He-Man cup that will be displayed. Should talk about the movie some.

The Review: The Boys Season 5

The Boys Season 5 (1/10)

Spoilers I guess. I have been trying to figure out how to do a review for this last season of The Boys for over a week now. I kind of forgot the new season was starting and was able to watch half the season in one day and had no feelings towards it. This started as a parody of many superhero movies/TV shows and ended up becoming a parody of itself. I enjoyed the previous ones so much but felt that it couldn't continue for much longer. The break in between seasons along with that terrible series Gen-V did not help. I watched this and saw people I had seen for years feel as if they were pretending to be those characters again and it felt just flat to me. People died and I felt nothing. Others survived and felt nothing. This was just a bland ass time for me. Even deaths I had waited years for didn't make me cheer or anything. I just went “Okay.” For those that wanna know who died here they are. Homelander (killed by Butcher after being depowered by Kimiko who has Soldier Boy's abilities), Butcher (shot by Hughie after being depowered by Kimiko and planning to still kill all supes), A-Train (killed by Homelander), The Deep (killed by sea life), Black Noir 2 (killed by The Deep), Frenchie (killed by uranium and Homelander), and Firecracker (killed by Homelander).

The Review: Send Help

L suggested this movie after she spotted it on Hulu. I hadn't heard of this movie whatsoever and ended up really enjoying it. This lady named Linda Liddle is weird. In movies they have weird people who are quirky and such, but she is beyond that. Like, you wouldn't wanna be around her for long. She looks like she smells like whatever she ate. At work everyone ignores her. Her boss passes away and she was promised a promotion but is passed up for this asshat that takes credit for all her work. Her new boss is Bradley who is the son of the guy that passed away. She confronts him about this and he pretty much shits on her and tells her to stop eating her tuna sandwiches at her desk cause of smells. She walks to her car and cries.

The Review: Highest 2 Lowest

L and I watched this. Well we tried. Made it half an hour until she started letting me know where the story was headed and we made the decision to stop watching knowing there was two more hours to go. David King runs a music business that is failing but he wants to bet on himself. Literally. Fuck having a wife and child and a ton of expenses. “Hey, honey. Sold everything to have major share in my company. Byyyye!” His wife looks considerably younger than him which was jarring. Looked up age differences and he is about my parents age while she is close to my younger cousins age. Basic story is son gets kidnapped and ransomed but wrong kid is taken and he is like “Not my boy so, pffft!” but its his friends son. We read rest of take and glad I didn't finish this. The music was annoying as hell and long. People were acting all over the place. Some stage acting. Others movie acting. Some like a telenovella. Heavy handed dialogue and camera usage. Just a bummer of a movie.

Ventura's California Strawberry Festival Review

This is a special post written by M'lady L. We went to the Strawberry Festival in Ventura last week and...yeah. I will let her describe this experience. Enjoy! Or not.

I honestly don’t even know how to properly score this festival because there were so many separate issues that combined into one miserable experience. The festival itself was just “okay,” but the transportation problems and misleading information completely ruined the day.

The Review: Greenland 2 Migration

Last year L was going through an apocalyptic phase and we watched some movies and TV shows. We watched the first Greenland movie (click here for that nonsense) and months later she found out that they had the nerve to make a sequel. The movie came and went (no one saw it in theaters) and then it popped up on streaming to ruin my day. This movie takes place five years after the last one (even though the son was 7 and is now 15). At the end of the first one they open the bunker doors and you hear birds and shit and its like “Ah, the storm has passed.” And by storm I mean a big ass comet that wiped out 75% of civilization. It would be so much easier to get to work...

The Review: Bloodhounds

Bloodhounds 8/10

I saw a clip from this show online and was like “What is this?!” Found out that it was Netflix and decided to watch while I still have the service considering I forget it exists. This show kicked all kinds of ass for the most part. It got weird (for weird life reasons) towards the end and I could tell that they had to pivot in a large way. This is about this kid named Gun-woo that is a fucking amazing boxer. He fights amateur and is taking everyone out with one punch to the kidney. He is also good at blocking which is very helpful as the story goes on. He ends up facing this guy named Woo-jin who is also very good and ends up beating him. Woo-jin is tough. He actually got up after the first knock down. Later Gun-woo meets Woo-jin and asks if he wants to get something to eat. These two become the best of friends!

Documentality: We Are Jeni

We Are Jeni 6/10

This not gonna be long. L and I watched this two part series about this lady named Jeni who was super tortured by her father for years and again later as an adult (when she invited him back into her life after he only got 9 years in prison for assaulting someone else in England but I am not gonna get into that). What was remarkable about this case was that Jeni has DID ( Dissociative Identity Disorder) and was allowed to have her different alts speak at her trial. Her father was sentenced to decades which means his raggedy ass gonna die behind bars. DID is something I saw in movies, TV shows, and read in comics (Crazy Jane in Doom Patrol of the dude in Split. Some people say they have it but a true version of it is interesting to see. I am glad she got justice after so many years of not being believed or protected but I had more questions than answers after watching this and felt a type of way after watching. There is no meaty backstory on what her mother was doing while over a decade of abuse happened to Jeni. There was physical damage done and no one helped. No mention of her brother and sister and if they had the same thing or something similar happening to them. I wasn't asking for some triumphant happy ending, but when this was done I felt like this lady was born to be the victim of a monster. No reasons or anything given as to why no one believed her or even how her father grew up to be such a shitty human. It was just like “This is what happened. This is how it ended. Bye.”

The Review: Swapped

Spoilers!!! Last weekend L suggested this movie Swapped. I had never heard of it and chances are wouldn't have even checked it out because as I always say, it takes a lot for me to get into new animated movies. So glad we watched this one. This is about this little critter called a Pookoo named Ollie. He and his mother, father, and grandma live on this little island. Since he was little Ollie has been curious. Like, way too curious. Dangerously curious I would say. His father is like “Don't trust anything because everything will try to kill you!” He was super right by the way. His grandmother tells the story of how everyone lived together and these giant tree creatures called Dzo showed up and gave everyone the ability to be what they wanted. A firewolf showed up and started killing and burning them all.

This is gonna be full of all the what people these days call “victim blaming” so if that bugs you please just go read something else. When I start any documentary about cults I ask myself two questions: Are there any Black people there and why are they? I know that folks can join a cult cause they are lonely and whatnot. Hey. I have been alone but wouldn't consider myself as ever being truly lonely. I think even in my most sad state I would never follow this guy. This dude is a true piece of shit and if you have ever known a loudmouth Black dude you would hear him and immediately go “Oh, this dude is fucknuts. I'm crossing the street.” Like, a couple months ago on the bus this dude was wilding out. He said his name so I looked him up and I'll be damned if there wasn't a video of him screaming the same shit to a camera crew.

The Review: Balls Up

L and I watched this crazy ass movie after she was intrigued by the premise. I am not a fan of the comedian in this but think it worked because he played more of the straight man between the two. Doing this from memory because Wiki didn't even bother to have a description. This is about a guy at an advertising agency named Elijah who creates this new condom that also covers your balls. They want to get a deal at the World Cup. Brad jumps in and changes the name which people like better. They head to Brazil and end up scoring the deal and go out to celebrate. While doing so Brad convinces the guy to have a drink though he is 9 years sober. This man gets drunk, does coke, and ends up swinging around the bar butt naked but not before giving them passes to the game soon. Brad and Elijah are fired and another company gets the deal.

The Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem 9/10

It takes a certain style of art and humor for me to be into any new animated movie. Some I look at it and go “Meh” or “That bothers me” and I won't watch. But after Ro suggested this after seeing that I have made a ton of turtle based designs said I would enjoy this. When I say this movie got me from the start I mean it. A damned ninja turtle movie started off with “Ante Up” by MOP! By the way, the music in this is incredible. The ones they use and the original soundtrack. This movie was delightful as fuck.

The Review: Crime 101

Crime 101 DNF/10

Guess I need to write something about this wack ass movie. L and I watched this and made it an hour in with too much to go. We were so uninterested in what this was and where the story was going. Probably the most boring heist based movies I have ever seen in a world where I have seen heist movies where you never see it happen. So this dude Mike is a jewel thief. He also wants to change up his life. He handler knows this and starts handing the jobs off to another guy who is violent and stupid. A detective is hunting him down and his department no longer has faith in him neither does his wife. Then there is an insurance broker named Sharon. There lives all collide at some point but that happens after I stopped watching. I could not care less about the way this ended (looks up ending). Yeah, I'm glad I didn't finish this. Nice cast full of MCU actors and actresses but this shit was dull.

The Review: Ballerina

 

Ballerina 2/10

Spoilers. I really don't have all that much to say about this movie. I watched it yesterday and it felt like I was just watching people practice for an action film is a really expensive way. All the effects and such were there but this story just felt so...blah. I am not sure why I didn't connect to the character of Eve because I like the actress that played her. I liked a lot of the people in this. But in the end it just felt like a cash grab just riding off the tailcoat of John Wick who even shows up in this and if not for his help and mercy the main character would have died. I should mention the story. Little girl dad gets killed and she escapes and grows up for revenge hunting a group only to find out that her father was one of them and so is she. Oh, and her sister she thought was dead is alive. It felt more like a made for Netflix movie with a good budget. Like, this should be good or at least cool. Every fight scene felt too “dancey.” For example as much as I love the OG Mortal Kombat movie some of them fights seemed like they were counting until the next move. I didn't buy Eve as this bad ass fighting machine. Just lucky everyone is a bad shot.

The Review: Paradise Season 2

Paradise Season 2 (2/10)

Okay. This is gonna have all the spoilers. The first season of this was incredible. I was telling everyone to watch this because it was such an amazing series and L and I got hype when we saw a prop during a studio tour knowing a second season was coming. Well, they could have kept it because this was booty. I have concerns, complaints, and conundrums. I have all the C's! How could a show go from being one of the best pure seasons of television to whatever the fuck it became. The more I sit on this the worst it gets (ha!) so let me just get this out of my system before I piss myself off more. I am gonna do this episode by episode otherwise it will make even less sense than it did.

The Review: Wake Up Dead Man

Wake Up Dead Man 9/10

One of the last things L and I watched was this movie. I enjoyed Knives Out a lot and Glass Onion as well. I liked this one but with each of these movies have trouble trying to talk about it. Not because of spoilers but I have trouble writing about detective stuff so this is gonna be short even though it has an incredible cast and a story that was so insane that there was no way in hell I could solve this mystery. Hell, even at one point Blanc was like “I don't know how to figure this out!” A priest that used to box but killed a man in the ring gets sent to a church with a reverend Wick. He is a wild asshole. The people that stay in his church are all weird and want something from him. During service Wick is stabbed to death and later emerges from his mausoleum like some damned miracle.

The Review: Anaconda

Anaconda 8/10

L and I watched this crazy ass movie for some reason. My cousin said it was funny so I was willing to give it a try. This group of friends decide to make a movie after watching one they made as children. Doug wanted to be a director and is currently making wedding announcement videos that are too weird for his customers. Ronald is an extra in TV shows and not happy. Kenny is the camera man who loves the drinking and drugs. Claire is their actress and currently a lawyer. Ronald says that he bought the rights to the Anaconda movie franchise and they decide to head to Brazil and make a movie. There is also a side story with this lady named Ana that is a freedom fighter. Right?

The Review: People We Meet On Vacation

People We Meet On Vacation 5/10

This was an okay movie but aggravated me as someone who has a lot of lady friends and doesn't hold onto these pining feelings the entire time waiting for the chance to bone down. This guy Alex meets with this girl named Poppy and she is pretty much feral. Just everything about her is weird, rude, no sense of personal space, or loud. Just zero social skills (which is pretty much like most young people these days). They go on a road trip that is supposed to be a few hours that ends up taking over a day because of her. In present day there is a wedding coming up and they are both gonna end up there. We get flashbacks of their relationship. Every year during the summer for a week they take a vacation together whether they are dating other people or not. There are some close calls and obvious sexual tension between them. Its awkward and annoying. Of course they end up together in the end and even when given a reason as to why it will work my brain is just like “Until she gets bored.” I forgot to mention that her job is taking vacations and writing about them. There is a trope called “manic pixie dream girl” and she is the definition of it. I have known friends of friends that fit this and in my head they have a 10 minute time limit around me. This dude decided to take a chance.

Curtain Call: Six The Musical

Six The Musical 9/10

Cam and I went to see Six again a few weeks ago. L was supposed to come but felt under the weather. This is the show that made me wish that more live shows were shorter. 90 minutes no intermission in and out. The first time I saw this I was listening to a podcast and just heard about all these ladies so the information was fresh in my mind. Had to do some catching up. The first time I saw this there was one performer that was kinda weak but didn't affect the show and the same thing happened again this time but with a different character. This is still a super fun show and one I will see every time its at The Pantages. The sound was good as well. Its the exact same show as before so I'm not gonna get into the weeds describing what it is about.
