This is a damn good movie. L. got me to watch A Soldier's Story which came out in 1984 and I only knew one line from this damn movie and it was from watching that show Martin. This is this takes place during World War II and one of the most evil acting man who is a master sergeant is found shot dead on the side of a road. Most people just say the local Klan did it but a captain is sent to investigate this. The thing is is that this captain is Black and there is not many other Black captains if any so a lot of the soldiers are super proud and shocked when they see him and anyone that's white is confused and baffled as to why they need to salute or listen to this man because he's Black.
He ends up getting only 3 days to do this investigation and is getting no help doing it. He starts interviewing different soldiers one by one getting a glimpse into the man who was killed named Vernon Waters. Every single interaction that people had with Waters is bad. He does not seem like a likable man whatsoever. He specifically hates Black people who act a particular way and will do everything possible to make their life miserable. I'm glad there wasn't something in this that showed that he was super soft on the inside and was killed for no reason. Yes you do find out why he was killed and I was kind of just like, yeah, if I had the chance I probably would have done the same thing. This was a nice good murder mystery with nice pacing. We ended up watching this on Pluto on demand. People are still sleeping on this channel but Pluto has a lot of great television shows and movies.
