So a few weeks back L. found this series called Roar on Apple+. I had not heard of it and after watching just two episodes I will say that I wish I had not even watched the damn thing. Some stuff just ain't made for me and judging by these two episodes this is one of them. Each episode is a different story of varying lengths and the first I will talk about probably needed about another twenty minutes to make sense.
The Woman Who Disappeared
This one is about a writer heading to Los Angeles to meet with some studio folk about selling her autobiography. It is about a terrible event in her life where her dad was fucked up by some police and wants non-Black people to see what it is like to not be seen. She meets with the group and it is all White dudes and they want to turn her story into a virtual reality experience. Slowly people start to not be able to see her. Like, for real. A dude almost sits on her. People don't see her in line. She almost gets hit by a car. She hoofs it to the gathering and sees all these people watching the VR of her father being attacked by police. This Back dude that picked her up from the airport earlier in the episode shows up and he can see her and says she knows why the other can't. The episode ends and I was like ”The fuck?!” I know the message that was trying to be displayed but this felt like a White lady's version of what it must feel like for Black women.

The Woman That Was Fed By A Duck
This is about a woman that was fucked by a duck. There. She is unhappy and looking for love and tired of being nagged by her sister. She is also studying to be a doctor or something. Duck shows up and talks to her. She takes the duck home, feeds it, fucks it, and lets it stay with her. The duck starts acting like an asshole and even attacks her. She calls animal control and they remove the duck. I was officially done after this. Sorry if there are better episodes of this series but these two random ones we watched were enough for me.
