Steel Punch 5: Brokenhearted City Soundtrack

I have finally completed the last installment of the Steel Punch series titled Steel Punch 5: Brokenhearted City. I have made these as a sort of love letter to fighting games like Streets Of Rage 2. I made the first Steel Punch soundtrack and had no intentions of making another. Then I made Steel Punch 2: Gideon's Revenge and that was fun. Then I made Steel Punch 3: Ladies Night and had that as a all lady themed video game. At the end of that I added some child laughter and that made me think “What if these characters had kids?” and made Steel Punch 4: Waking Maria. I seriously thought I was finished. And then a couple of months ago I had the idea to have all the good guys from the previous games turn bad and made this new one, Steel Punch 5: Brokenhearted City.

I have made hundreds of songs using Looperman and will be sending links to the people whose music I have used to create this stuff. For whatever reason these never load in order so click here to see the track listings. This soundtrack contains 16 tracks. I removed bonus levels from this to smooth things out and even made some songs shorter than usual. This was fun and thanks for checking this out. I had a lot of fun making this.

Steel Punch 4: Waking Maria Video Game Soundtrack

At the end of the last soundtrack I ended up inspiring myself to make a fourth. Steel Punch 4: Waking Maria may be the last for the Steel Punch series. What is Steel Punch? It is a video game that exists only in my head. I know what the levels and characters look like when I listen to the music but have not drawn anything related to it and likely never will. Click for Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

Steel Punch 3 Ladies Night Soundtrack

I finally finished the third installment of my video game that does not exist anywhere except in my head. Steel Punch 3: Ladies Night was more fun than making the soundtracks for part one and part two because now I know more about what I am doing and felt comfortable playing around. I used more vocals in this and tried to give each level a distinctive sound. In my head when I hear the music I can see the characters, enemies, and bosses. I did away with bonus level music and focused on just being ridiculous. I also may have accidentally made a part four in my head. In case anyone is wondering where My Song Of The Week is now I have started loading my songs to Spacebar DJ instead.

Steel Punch 2: Gideon's Revenge Video Game Soundtrack

Last night while loading some songs I realized that while I had posted the soundtrack for Steel Punch I'd never loaded the second one so here it is. It is fun listening to how I made songs a year ago and even two years ago when I first even attempted it. The songs load out of order for whatever reason so if you wanna see the tracks click here.

My Song Of The Week: Steel Punch 3 Ladies Night Theme

The other day I was messing around making a song and ended up trashing it and starting again and ended up making this. By the time I finished I thought "This is for another soundtrack!" This is the start of Steel Punch 3: Ladies Night. One day I will draw the characters for this video game that does not exist. Click here for previous My Song Of The Week.

Steel Punch 2: Gideon's Revenge Level 5 Music

For those that do not know I created a soundtrack for a video game that does not exist last year called Steel Punch. I have planned to design the characters for this nonexistent game but in the meantime I ended up making an entire soundtrack for the sequel titled Steel Punch 2: Gideon's Revenge. I assume that the bad guy didn’t die for real in the first not game. The first soundtrack was very much inspired by Streets Of Rage 2. Very game-like, beepy, techno, with some hip-hop tossed in and rock when I needed it.

The second is more metal and aggressive. I made each level with a feel to it to help me create the stages, the boss, and even the bonus level music. Something is wrong with me. I was listening to the soundtrack for the sequel a few days ago on the way to work and loving it but there was something about level five that bothered me. It just did not fit with the rest of the songs at all and came across as too light. So a few minutes ago I decided to change it up and make something that I liked way more. This is it. Hope you like it.

Steel Punch Video Game Soundtrack

I started producing songs a few months ago for rapper Dan-e-o and was one of the winners of a contest. While creating beats and such I started to have the idea of creating a soundtrack for a video game. No, this game does not exist. I originally planned on making maybe three songs for it. Next thing you know there are songs for each level, boss battles, and bonus stages. Steel Punch was born!

Eventually I'll get around to creating characters and a back story for this but for now it exists as a video game in my head with a soundtrack for anyone to check out. This was fun to do and I tried to keep it based on the music that inspired it like Streets Of Rage, Daft Punk, and the Drive soundtrack. Click here if you want to download it as an mp3.
