Fantastic Four Needs Another Reboot

I have seen all of the Fantastic Four movies. The Roger Corman one, the terrible ones with Captain America as The Human Torch, and the latest one starring Creed and Whiplash. Out of all of them the Corman one is the closest in tone to what I'd expect from a FF movie. Yeah, I know there's a rubber arm waving at the end which is funny no matter how many times I see it but its still a better movie than the others. Strange considering it was made on a budget of $1 million while the others were $100 million, $130 million, and $120 million respectively.

One of the screenwriters for the last FF movie that has been trashed by everyone but I liked more than most recently talked about making a sequel for it. “We didn't make a good movie, and the world voted, and I think they probably voted correctly. And you can't make a good movie every time out--not everybody does. We actually have a pretty good batting average, all things considered. But I think we made many mistakes when we made that movie--mistakes that we learned from and we wouldn't repeat” Simon Kinberg said in an interview.

In Defense Of Fantastic 4 Reboot

I love pointless outrage. I like to think that I have mastered the ability to get upset about nothing. But the rage towards the reboot of The Fantastic Four film is funny. Most people are mad that The Human Torch is being played by a Black guy to which I reply “Its the fucking Fantastic Four...” meaning “Who gives a fuck?!” A little bit ago I defended Ben Affleck as Batman and this time I'm not gonna strongly attempt to defend a Black Human Torch so much as make you all realize that this isn't worth getting upset about.

There is this video that Max Landis, the writer of the second best superhero film Chronicle, made called The Death And Return Of Superman where the first thing he says is “Nobody gives a fuck about Superman.” That is how I feel about FF (I'm not typing their name a hundred goddamn times). This new movie is directed by Josh Trank who directed Chronicle which makes me far less concerned if this movie will be cool. Forget trying to convince people that a Black guy can be a fictional character. Getting me to even be interested in seeing a FF movie is far more remarkable.

Neo Nerd Rage: Robocop Reboot

"In 2028, multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and honest cop doing his best to fight crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured by a car bomb outside his home, OmniCorp utilize their knowledge in robotics to save Murphy's life. Murphy returns to the streets of his city with new abilities and issues a regular man has never had to face before."

Everyone that doubted the new Robocop movie can suck a fat one! The trailer alone is better than each of the three movies. Yes, there were three. Have you seen them? No. You think you have but you totally didn't. The first one was cool...in theory. Rewatch that movie and tell me it is great. Its okay. The idea of Robocop is awesome. Dude gets slaughtered and is brought back as a half robot that looks far more terrifying when his helmet is removed.
