Lots of spoilers likely. A few days ago I watched the movie The Little Things on HBO Max. I was so excited to see this because of the cast and really liked it because it was such a dark ass movie. It felt like something from the 90's or early 2000's which it turns out makes sense as that was when it was written. One night this girl is driving and happy so I knew something bad was gonna happen. This car starts speeding towards her and then stopping. She gets spooked and runs for help at a gas station but no one is there. She ends up running away until she makes her way to the road and a trucker stops and helps her. Later deputy sheriff Joe “Deke” Deacon (definitely written in the 90's) is sent from Kern County to Los Angeles to get some evidence from a recent murder. When he shows up everyone is either dodging him like he's on fire or trying to talk to him when no one is looking. I found out later why and it makes a shit ton of sense. This dude is toxic.
