Cam
told me about this BBC America series Fleming: The Man Who Would Be
Bond which is based on the author and creator of James Bond, Ian
Fleming. This is a four part series that is about 45 minutes each
episode. Dominic Cooper stars as Fleming and continues to show why he
is one of the best actors not getting the attention he deserves. You
may know him as Tony Stark's father in the Captain America movies or
from his great movie The Devil's Double.
This
covers Fleming's life as a ladies man just coasting through life on
his family's money and his reputation. His older brother and his
mother are tired of his nonsense and he is eventually asked to join
the military. He does and is good at coming up with ideas even though
he refuses to take orders or authority seriously. While all this is
going on he is trying his best not to fall in love with various
women. You get to see a lot of why Bond behaves the way he does. When
people read his writing they ask if it is autobiographical.
When
this series was done I wished that there were about six more episodes
to watch. Four is good but made me want more. The acting in this is
really good. I loved the music. It felt like I was watching a Bond
movie and proves that with the right personality anyone can play the
guy. This came out almost a year ago and I didn't hear anyone talking
about it. Stop that. Tell me about good stuff.
