The Review: Preacher Episodes 3 & 4 (I Quit)

Preacher The Possibilities & Swamp Monster 2/10

I think I am done watching Preacher on AMC. Its not because it is so not like the comics that I can rage about that. I'm not even mad wen I watch the show. Its just a huge letdown and disappointment. They have a lot of good actors and the way the show looks is pretty groovy, but the story four episodes in feels like a waste of my time. I told my friend that I was gonna stick around for four episodes and if it hadn't pulled me in by that time that I was gonna quit and that is what I'm doing. There are a lot of other shows that I can either watch or check out for the first time. I totally missed the second season of Fargo so I'm gonna watch all of those within a week. This show is just turning out to be dull and each episode made me lose more and more interest in the characters. It sucks. I like watching TV.

The Review: Preacher Episode 2

Preacher 5/10

I got to watch episode two of Preacher. You wanna check out my review of episode one click here. This show is continuing to make Jesse the least interesting character in the series and it really can't afford to be this way when there are so many other shows to watch. I get that its early in the season, but come on. I'm not upset that its so different than the comic book but it is doing what I was afraid of and taking place in one town so far. It starts off with a cowboy in the late 1800's leaving home. He bumps into Tobias Beecher from Oz and his son. They are chatty as the cowboy says nothing and the next day sees a bunch of dead Native Americans scalped and hung. I know where this is going but it may be too early in the season for people that don't to be showing what seems so out of place and random.

The Review: Preacher (Pilot Episode)

Preacher 6/10

A British guy, and English guy, and an Irish/Ethiopian woman star as a Texas preacher, an Irish vampire, and a Southern woman in the new AMC series Preacher based off of the comic books. I am a fan of the comic but not super attached to it so I don't mind the shit ton of changes that were done in this pilot episode. Dominic Cooper who I think is a great actor stars as Jesse Custer who is given the power of The Word. If he tells you to do something you will. Joe Gilgun is Cassidy, the Irish vampire. And Ruth Negga is Tulip O'Hare. There will be some spoilers.

TV Slut: Fleming The Man Who Would Be Bond

Cam told me about this BBC America series Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond which is based on the author and creator of James Bond, Ian Fleming. This is a four part series that is about 45 minutes each episode. Dominic Cooper stars as Fleming and continues to show why he is one of the best actors not getting the attention he deserves. You may know him as Tony Stark's father in the Captain America movies or from his great movie The Devil's Double.

Theater Whore: Dracula Untold

Dracula Untold 3/10

This is one of those movies where I know what they were going for but between the bad directing and the terrible writing it stood no chance. Luke Evans stars as Vlad III ČšepeČ™, the son of Vlad the Impaler. He has a kingdom that is attacked and he visits a monster that gives him the power to become a stronger warrior. Of course that means becoming a vampire, or Dracula. Bleh! He dies and has a Nine Inch Nails dream before awakening stronger. He fights and every fighting visual effect occurs. You want slow motion, rotating cameras, and blurry vision, you got it! Dominic Cooper shows up and is once again wasted. Dude is a great actor! And why is it the tougher the warrior to bigger the wuss his kid is?
