The Review: Godzilla City On The Edge Of Battle

Godzilla City On The Edge Of Battle 9/10

This will be full of random spoilers. This movie Godzilla: City On The Edge Of Battle takes place right after the last movie Godzilla:Planet Of The Monsters. In the last movie they killed Godzilla and were all happy until the realized that it was not THE Godzilla. Just a spawn of the original one and by killing it they woke up the OG monster and he is far larger than the one they just damn near died from. The current captain Haruo Sakaki wakes up in a hut and is startled by this girl who runs from him. He tracks her down and there are more people like her. This tribe has captured and helped other survivors and they need to figure out how to battle Godzilla. Also up in the orbit the crew up there has the people still on Earth on a timeline and are planning to leave if they don't hear back. They eventually do and only three crew members return because they are chickenshits and don't wanna keep fighting.

The Review: How It Ends

How It Ends 1/10

I was this damn close to giving this movie either a 4 or 5 and then when it ended I dropped it immediately to a 1. How It Ends has a promising start. This couple Will and Samantha find out that a baby is on the way. Will played by the blandest damned actor I've seen in a long time, Theo James, wants to ask her father Tom played by Forest Whitaker, for her hand in marriage. He hates Will and after a terrible dinner he heads to a hotel to take a flight. Samantha calls him the next day and there is an explosion and the phone dies. Will races back to Tom and his wife and they take a road trip from Chicago to Seattle. Along the way people lose all their shit and within days the country has become The Purge but for some reason money is still a thing even when there is nothing to buy. Money is just paper, people!

The Review: Star Wars The Last Jedi

Star Wars The Last Jedi 3/10

In my continuing accidental mission to watch Star Wars movies out of order (like watching episodes one through six in actual order and watching Rogue One but not The Force Awakens) I watched The Last Jedi this morning on Netflix. Since I have not seen TFA I was confused about a lot of stuff. When I watched Rogue One I kept waiting for the Black Stormtrooper to show up and it wasn't until halfway through that I realized I was watching the wrong thing. With this one I figured it out pretty fast that I was watching the second movie and wondered why the fuck it wasn't on Netflix. Either way, I know a lot of what happened in the first movie so I wasn't totally lost with this one. I know about the bad guys family and what happened in the other film.

The Review: Goliath Season 2

Goliath Season Two 10/10

The problem was Billy Bob Thornton. I am not what you would consider a fan of the guy. I need to change that. I am a huge fan of him now after watching season two of Goliath on Amazon. The first season was really good and this second one wastes no time saying “Season one was cute compared to the shit we're gonna show you this season!” That is not even a knock on the first one seeing as how I gave it a 9/10. The was one character I did not like that affected that score. But this season gets so intense that it took me two days to finish one particular episodes because I did not know what the fuck was going to happen to folks. This is gonna have some spoilers so don't keep reading if you plan on checking this out. Hell, even if something gets spoiled you should still watch because this was eight pure episodes of an amazing show.

Theater Whore: Sorry To Bother You

Sorry To Bother You 10/10

I'm not even sure how to talk about this movie without spoiling everything so I am gonna be vague as all fuck. Even if you see the trailer for this you won't get a bit of what this movie is truly about. I saw this after Camille told me about seeing it and saying that even though she has not seen many movies this year this is the best one. I saw it this morning and was blown the hell away by it. The basic version is that this is a guy named Cassius Green played by Lakeith Stanfield (who was the best part of War Machine) that needs a job and gets one as a telemarketer. He is told by a coworker that he sounds too Black and he says that his Black friends tell him he sounds too White. He tries out a new voice and becomes extremely successful at work and is promoted. Shit gets stranger from there.

The Review: Wild Wild Country

Wild Wild Country 9/10

As I watched Wild Wild Country on Netflix I just kept asking myself “How is this gonna go sideways?” I knew that at some point things had to go south because it is a cult and those things never work out well because someone wants to bone down all the money, steal money, or get a taste for the violence. Well, this group known collectively as Osho managed to get all three down in a shocking manner. With the way this started I knew it would go bad but I didn't think it would get so crazy. I'm also pissed that I'd never heard of this group.
