Theater Whore: Sorry To Bother You

Sorry To Bother You 10/10

I'm not even sure how to talk about this movie without spoiling everything so I am gonna be vague as all fuck. Even if you see the trailer for this you won't get a bit of what this movie is truly about. I saw this after Camille told me about seeing it and saying that even though she has not seen many movies this year this is the best one. I saw it this morning and was blown the hell away by it. The basic version is that this is a guy named Cassius Green played by Lakeith Stanfield (who was the best part of War Machine) that needs a job and gets one as a telemarketer. He is told by a coworker that he sounds too Black and he says that his Black friends tell him he sounds too White. He tries out a new voice and becomes extremely successful at work and is promoted. Shit gets stranger from there.

The Review: Annihilation

Annihilation 8/10

If you were to ask someone “Wanna watch something weird?” and showed them the movie Annihilation they'd be pissed off at you because that question is not enough to get their bodies ready for this. Holy shit, this is a crazy ass movie but in a very good way. I did not know anything about it and saw a sort of review (barely listened because the host get too industry-ish for my liking) and decided to check it out. It is directed by the guy that made Ex Machina which I loved and stars Natalie Portman who I have had a thing for since I was in my 20's. So I sat down and tried to ready myself for some possible oddness and hopefully a cool film.

Theater Whore: Thor Ragnarok

Thor Ragnarok 10/10

This morning my ass raced to the theater to see Thor: Ragnarok because I didn't want any spoilers (which this review would have because it is a review an you shouldn't be reading them unless you expect to be spoiled by some things) and because this is the first Thor movie that looked interesting to me. The first Thor movie stunk. The second one was worse than the first. But when I saw the trailer for this one I got hype as shit and had to see this. On a previous blog post rating my excitement levels for upcoming Marvel movies (click here for that) I gave this a 1/5. That should tell you how much I enjoyed this.
