The Review: Beckett

Beckett 0/10

First off this movie is trash. You wanna watch some ol' bullshit? Check this out. I didn't know it existed and then L. mentioned it and I saw it was getting railed online so we started watching it. Less than half an hour in I thought it was closer to an hour. So this dude Beckett and his girlfriend April get to Greece and there is a protest so they are told that it will be noisy so they leave. He falls asleep at the wheel like an asshole and crashes into a house in the middle of nowhere. He sees a little boy who is then taken away. He wakes up in a hospital and it told that his lady is dead and he didn't see no boy.

The rest of the movie is watching him run, sweat, wince, have his arm broken, stung by bees, have his fingers broken, get shot in the arm, get beaten, get shot in the ribs, and then jump about seven stories onto a moving vehicle and beat the driver and rescue the boy. If this was made in a tongue in cheek manner or if I were told that this fucking guy was 007 then maybe I would have rolled with this. But no. This is supposed to be serious. Two hours that felt like four. Everyone is acting like they are in different films. He randomly finds people that speak English and aren't running when some Black dude covered in blood and eyes like he is tweaking come out of the woods asking for a phone. I said this movie was made so the cast could travel and its funny because the woman that played his girlfriend starred in Tomb Raider which I accused of the same thing. If you liked this that is cool because there are plenty of movies like this made. I actually hated this. Music that shouts at what emotions you should feel at the moment. Weak ass story. Weak ass acting. And a dumb ass ending.

John David Washington as Beckett

Boyd Holbrook as Stephen Tynan

Vicky Krieps as Lena

Alicia Vikander as April Hanson
