The Review: Ash Vs Evil Dead Season 2

Ash Vs Evil Dead Season Two 10/10

There will be some spoilers. Thank god they added Ash Vs Evil Dead Season 2 to Netflix because no one has Starz! I ran through the second season in a few days and could not believe that it was better than the first season which I loved. This show is so damned well made and you can tell that the people involved, besides the people that were in the originals, love being a part of it. Every is into what they are doing and giving 100%. You know how on some shows there seem to be people that are all in? This is not one of those shows. This show is so fucking fun to watch and I am glad that next year there will be another season.

This starts off right after the first season ends. Ash played by Bruce Campbell, Kelly played by Dana DeLorenzo, and Pablo played by Ray Santiago are partying in Jacksonville which is where Ash wanted to go after making a deal with the immortal Ruby played by Lucy Lawless. By the way, Lawless is far too attractive. Okay. So Ash made a deal to let Ruby have her evil children let loose and he got to escape. But at this crazy ass party this mother and daughter attack because they are demons and tell Ash that he fucked up. Ash is mad because he thought they had a deal. Next thing you know blood is flying everywhere. That's the thing about this show. If you are easily grossed out you will not like this show.

One of the demons call Ash “Ashy Slashy” which let's him know where he needs to go. Home. His father Brock played by Lee Majors wants nothing to do with Ash. Nether does the town. They all remember him as the guy that slaughtered his sister and friends in a cabin decades ago. No one believes that demons exist and that he saved the world. Seeing and hearing his dad you see where Ash got all his behavior towards women from. Ruby is forced to help out because her children that she brought back are turning against her and working for this guy named Baal who everyone calls Bill. Dude is creepy as shit.

As a fan of the Evil Dead movies it was so cool to get to know some of Ash's past since I had no idea I was curious about it until they started delving in. Seeing his old friends and people he went to school with like his old girlfriend. By the way, this show manages to find the hottest Black women to be on it. Not that the non-Black women are anything to sneeze at but this show consistently has hot Black women on it. They even managed to get in some Army Of Darkness stuff into this season which was an awesome surprise.

This season had me on a roller coaster of feelings. Everyone in this show is really cool. I liked the character of Kelly a lot in the first season and Pablo stepped the hell up in this one and had me scream “No, not Pablo, you bastards!” at one point. Each episode is less than half an hour so the season was finished before I wanted it to be but it wasn't like they left anything out. Seriously, good job to everyone involved in this series because every episode feels like they give a damn and I wish every show was this way.
