The Review: Black Lightning

Black Lighting 3/10

What a fitting number considering I only watched three episodes. To be fair...to myself, I was ready to be done halfway through the first episode but decided for some reason to watch a few more. I was hoping that it would get better and that the first episode was just the series Black Lightning getting its footing. It didn't three episodes in so I tapped out. They have this on Netflix so I checked it out and I wasn't disappointed because I had zero expectations for this. I don't watch any of the DC shows on CW anymore. I gave up on Flash years ago after it had been amazing and wanted another good series to check out. This was not it.

10 Reasons Why You Should Have Watched The Flash

Its crazy how easily I could've missed out on one of the best series of the past year and a half. The Flash aired its first season on the CW as a spinoff from Arrow which is a show I had no interest in watching. If Donnie hadn't told me to check it out I never would've because that channel is not a channel I watch. Yeah, back in the day I watched Felicity, Dawson's Creek, and Smallville but that was it. Oh, and I think Buffy. It also didn't help that I watch everything online or Youtube. This is going to be full of spoilers so if you don't wanna know stop reading. But if you're one of those people that can read 'em and not care then knock yourself out.

This show is about a forensics guy named Barry Allen (Grant Austin) that was struck by lightning after an experiment in the city went wrong and can move ridiculously fast. Others were also given powers and he fights against them with the help of Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) who was in charge of the experiment at S.T.A.R Labs, Dr. Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) who is a bio-engineering expert, and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) their mechanical engineer. His father was arrested for the murder of his mom after a “man in yellow” killed her and no one believes it. He was adopted by his fathers friend Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) and lived with his daughter Iris who he likes but never tells. Here are the 10 Reasons Why You Should Have Watched The Flash.

You Had One Job: Aquaman Movie

The image for Jason Momoa as the new Aquaman was released and women loved it and guys were confused. I can be upset about the fact that Momoa looks absolutely nothing like Aquaman and more like Conan the Barbarian or Drogo from Game of Thrones

When I first heard that he was playing Aquaman what bothered me most is the fact that I do not enjoy him as an actor unless he is growling at things. I watched his movie Wolves and it was just terrible. Just terrible. And in that he growled at things and shouted a lot. That movie made less than $40,000 opening weekend and even that was more than I thought that film deserved to make. If you ever come across it on cable you will not even laugh at how bad it is. It's just regular bad.

Momoa quelled some of my fears during a recent interview were he said “It's Batman and Superman. It's not my movie. It's the first time in history to have them both on the screen together, and I'm just excited to see those two up there. Justice League is still quite a ways away. But I'm looking forward to it. Henry's a sweetheart, Ben is a badass, so I'm really looking forward to when we all shoot Justice League.”
