The Review: Fighter In The Wind

Fighter In The Wind 4/10

I was watching a fight reaction video and a clip from this movie Fighter In The Wind was shown so I checked if I could watch it and it was on Amazon. This is about this boxer who runs away from Korea to Japan to fight in the war but then the war ends and he is kinda fucked. The Japanese don't want him there, the Yakuza don't want him there, and soldiers wanna kick his ass. One day he gets shamed in front of a crowd and pisses himself. He also has a weird ass guy that becomes his friend for comic relief. He ends up in a camp about to be executed and tries to fight for freedom and gets his ass kicked. He vows to become a great fighter.

No need to really explain more about this. I really liked the fight scenes. The subtitles have terrible timing and start seconds before people start talking or seconds after they have already begun. The movie was over two hours long and felt close to three. This could have easily been an eighty minute movie but there are a lot of staring scenes and random slow motion. Hell, they even throw some freeze frames in for some reason. I would suggest finding clips of this online of the fights and watching. This is loosely based off a real dude that created a fighting style and ends with a bull getting chopped in the horn.
