Upcoming Marvel Films Excitement Levels 2

Marvel has a lot of new movies coming out this and next year as well as a bunch of new TV series that all manage to look good somehow. I am gonna write about five of the next set of movies and how excited I am about them. Hint: way more excited than I was about the DC ones. Deal with it.

Black Widow

Excitement Level – 5/5

Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pughm, David Harbour, and Rachel Weisz

You know what made me want to see this movie even more than I originally wanted to? A damned video essay on Youtube by Implicitly Pretentious (click to watch). I liked her character but was so used to her that I didn't appreciate her character. I watched Iron Man 2 again and forgot how she was even introduced into the MCU. That video essay showed her character through all of the films and how she fit into the group, related to characters, and grew far more than I realized. I didn't know how the hell they planned on even making this considering on how Endgame, well, ended. The trailer for this looks cool as hell and I am mad interested to see some of the characters they will introduce. I'll be seeing this the first day it comes out.

Upcoming DC Films Excitement Levels 2

Five years ago I did a series of posts about my excitement levels for the upcoming movies meaning mostly superhero ones. There are a ton of DC movies coming out and I am gonna focus on the ones that at least have a cast because DC has a shit ton of stuff in development. There are some that I covered before that still have not come out and after a series of unsuccessful films. Okay, fine. I'll still talk about some of the ones that are allegedly gonna come out. I won't get into how DC has actual dozens of TV shows and still waste time on finding a way to make a movie that has zero connection to them with dozens more that were canceled with others coming back on a different network. I rate these on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being “Meh” and 5 being “Get hype, hookers!”

Upcoming Fantastic 4, Batman v Superman, Star Wars, Ant Man Trailer Excitement Levels

I have recently been able to watch some of the trailers for some upcoming movies and decided to do an Excitement level post about them the way I did with those Marvel and DC Comics ones. This time its for Fantastic 4, Batman v Superman, Star Wars, and Ant Man. Its funny how trailers nowadays are teaser trailers or they show way too much of the movie. I haven't decided if it is ignorance or blind confidence when this is done but it is and I'm gonna talk about it.

The trailer for this got me more excited than I thought it would. The trailer seems to shut up a lot of complaints about the first as well as answered questions as well. We see that Sue Storm was adopted by Johnny Storm's dad answering the “Why is he Black but they are related?!” question. Thing looks better than he has ever looked on film. And Mr. Fantastic appears to use his powers in a cool, fast way and not like in previous films where it was more like “Look at how far he can stretch...slowly.” I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Upcoming Marvel Studio Films Excitement Levels

Marvel Studios just released a list of their upcoming films which is called Phase 3. With a total of nine films that seems like quite a bit but DC released a list of ten (click here to read that) so it doesn't seem quite as bad particularly when you take into account that DC is stretching with some of their choices. Meanwhile Marvel has me either confused or excited about theirs.

Marvel has their movies coming out at an alarming rate once they are released which seems to be cramming as much in as they can. This can be good if you are a fan or have lots of money but bad if you don't or have no back story on some of the characters. As much shit as I talk about DC for making an Aquaman film starring a guy that has the acting skills that border on Klingon, people still know who the hell Aquaman is.

Upcoming DC Films Excitement Levels

DC Films has released a list of ten upcoming films. Some of these are really worth being excited about while others are highly questionable. If you're not a fan of superheroes you are gonna hate the next 15 years of movies and television because the market is seriously being flooded with them. The problem with some of these is that the latter ones seem to depend on the success of the former.

Sony, that own the Marvel character Spiderman had set up for a Sinister Six movie but after the way the second film of the reboot did that idea has seemed to go away for now. I can easily see the same happening with some of these.
