I am
back again to casting movies because I have a lot of free time and
like telling silly studios how to do their job properly...meaning how
I want it. This time I am casting the next Batman movie and for this
movie I will be using Jon Hamm. For anyone that thinks that Jon Hamm
can not be scary just watch him in Baby Driver. He is one of those
actors that looks one way but can act another which I love. I thought
he only did things like drama and was funny in interviews but his few
scenes in Bridesmaids had me cracking up. There is a lot I like about
this guy and I am gonna explain why I think he could be the perfect
Batman and what the story should and shouldn't have.

The Review: Batman Gotham By Gaslight
Batman: Gotham By Gaslight 3/10
I was
excited about Batman: Gotham By Gaslight when I first heard about it.
I had not read the comic so I don't care whether or not it is true to
the original story. Just want a good animated movie which DC has been
lacking for a while. Turns out this was another disappointing one
which really sucks. This takes place during Victorian Gotham where
Jack the Ripper is killing ladies of the night. Batman continues to
show up just after a crime is committed. Selina Kyle is also there
trying to figure out who is killing women and stop them.

The Review: Batman The Killing Joke
Batman
The Killing Joke 4/10
I
planned on seeing this at The Arclight because they had a one night
showing but saw a short clip of the movie that made me go “You know
what? I'll watch it online.” It is the scene that a lot of folks
are talking about with Batgirl ripping her costume off to fuck Batman
on a rooftop. If you've ever read The Killing Joke then you know that
this never happens. I don't mind when a movie or animated film makes
changes. Sometimes its for the better. But a huge chunk of the movie
is dedicated to this story of Batgirl being bad at her job, banging
Batman, losing her cool, quitting, and then getting shot and
photographed naked by the Joker in an attempt to drive Commissioner
Gordon insane.
This
part finally leads to the actual story that when animated made me
realize that it is too short to be a feature length animated movie
and this shouldn't have been made. They have a possible Joker origin
like the comic and everything. But that damned stuff at the beginning
just wasn't even a good story. The only part of this I truly enjoyed
was when Batman was going nuts looking for Joker and he busts into
this spot whipping all the ass and this one guy is like “I don't
need to lie to you. Calm your shit.” The animation is good. The
voices are perfect. The music is cool. But this was just not
necessary. I was so excited to see this and after watching it was
left feeling very meh.

The Review: Batman Bad Blood
There
is a new Batman animated movie that caught my ass by surprise called
Bad Blood. This was one of my favorite animated Batman films. The
art, the story, the voices, and the animation were all on super point. Plus it
has everyone and their mama in it. The story starts with Batwoman
trying to stop a group of C-level Batman villains being led by this
guy that looks like Batman on every form of HGH he could find.
Batwoman is doing okay what with her guns and all then she starts to
get her ass kicked till Batman shows up. During an explosion to save
her he disappears.

Batman Vs. Ghost Rider Fake Film Trailer
I whipped together this fake trailer starring Batman and Ghost Rider. I used Windows and Audacity to edit it which is a nightmare. Not making excuses for if it sucks. I just know that with better software I could kick more ass. I have AVID experience so being handcuffed with cheapness is difficult. Either way, I think this came out better than I expected considering this is my first time doing this. I'll be posting the Youtube version but if that get yanked down CLICK HERE for another option.

Upcoming DC Films Excitement Levels
DC
Films has released a list of ten upcoming films. Some of these are
really worth being excited about while others are highly
questionable. If you're not a fan of superheroes you are gonna hate
the next 15 years of movies and television because the market is
seriously being flooded with them. The problem with some of these is
that the latter ones seem to depend on the success of the former.
Sony,
that own the Marvel character Spiderman had set up for a Sinister Six
movie but after the way the second film of the reboot did that idea
has seemed to go away for now. I can easily see the same happening
with some of these.

Badass New Batmobile
Whenever
there is a new Batman related anything, more important that who is
playing him is what the Batmobile will look like. They recently
released a new image for the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of
Justice movie and I'll be damned if there haven't made an even cooler
Batmobile. I read some people online complaining that Batman doesn't
use guns. Oh, ye of selective memory. Offhand I remember wanting to
shoot the guy that killed his parents with the same gun. Even in that
terrible Tim Burton Batman the Batplane had machine guns. I think
this is based more off of Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns where
Batman realized that his old ways of just capturing and locking
criminals up wasn't gonna work anymore. I can't wait to see this
thing in action.

DVDiculous: Son Of Batman
I saw a trailer for this Son Of Batman movie and even though I absolutely hate the character of Damien Wayne I decided to watch it because fuck you its a Batman movie. The immediate issue I have with this is that they treat Ra's al Ghul like a B-level villain. This is one of the only villains that know who Batman really is and has walked into the Bat Cave. He is a serious son of a bitch.
Anyhoot,
while Ra's' daughter Talia and all of them are chilling at their
super evil base it gets attacked by Deathstroke and a bunch of
mercenaries. Ra's gets killed before he can reach the Lazurus Pit (it
is a bubbly green pool that brings him back from any serious injury
and is also the reason he is about 500 years old). Damien goes nuts
and starts killing dudes left and right and gets mad when his mom
doesn't want to dip her dead father into the pool.
Talia decides it is time for Batman to meet his psychotic child and arrives in Gotham acting all sexual towards Batman before showing him his creepy, new son. Immediately Batman should've been like “Get the fuck out of Gotham and take this obvious lunatic with you!” He doesn't though and Talia leaves him with Batman. Damien saunters around the Bat Cave like he owns the place and keeps pointing out that one day he will (which I laughed at because he totally doesn't...). Hell, even Alfred doesn't like him.

Should Gal Gadot Be Wonder Woman?
A while back I wrote a blog defending Ben Affleck playing Batman here in the upcoming Superman movie. I'm still fine with this but then I heard that they were going to add Wonder Woman to the mix and my eyebrow went up so fast that it hurt. There is always a problem when it comes to Wonder Woman films which I wrote about before here.
Wonder
Woman is an iconic character that has had highs and lows in the
comics, a cool series back in the day, an incredible resurgence in
cartoon, but has struggled in terms of a movie or new series. Hell,
the latest attempt at a series was so bad that it didn't even get a
chance to air after the script and images of it got out. Honestly the
best version of a live action Wonder Woman since Lynda Carter was
Kimberly Kane in a porno!

In Defense Of Ben Affleck As Batman
The public is mad! Ben Affleck was announced as playing Batman in the sequel to Man Of Steel and immediately there have been memes and rage from not just regular comic book nerds but people who also like to pretend that they watch movies regularly or know things about comic book characters just because they saw Batman over 20 years ago.
Yeah. Its gonna be one of those types of blogs.
I should’ve prefaced this with the fact that I am a huge Batman fan but I will admit when something is not right or cool with me. I loved the last three Batman films but had issues with the voices. I forgave dozens of plot holes because fuck it he’s Batman. So when I heard that Affleck was playing him I actually said “I don’t have a problem with this.” Its not that I’m getting soft in my old age. I have just become more forgiving.

Who Is The Best Catwoman?
This is Lee Meriwether. She played Catwoman in the 1966 Batman movie. I will not be discussing her in this blog. Why? Because she confuses me. I mix her up with another actress I’ll be discussing later and may very well have used the wrong picture when I get to her. Just like with my Who Is The Best Batman? blog I did, this one will probably cause lots of nerd rage.
The problem with playing Catwoman is that there have been some pretty strong performers so it’s an uphill battle from the get go. I’ve chosen five actresses and pick through them as Catwoman the character and Selina Kyle where it applies. Just because someone has cat ears and/or spandex does not make them Catwoman.
