Casting Slouch: Rachael Ostovich as Wonder Woman

I continue to recast the DC films. I already did Batman and Superman and now it is time to tackle Wonder Woman. There was the old Wonder Woman series with Lynda Carter and as far as looks go and having the character of what I'd like Wonder Woman to be she is the best. After that there was the terrible ass TV show they attempted. If you have not watched it you can find it online just to laugh at what they thought could pass as a watchable show. On the Justice League cartoon series they did a really good job of showcasing her. I want to figure out a way to make her character not come across as weak as she has been portrayed at times or as bland as she was in the Wonder Woman movie. Seriously. She was pretty lame.

Wonder Woman 5/10

I decided to watch Wonder Woman despite saying I wouldn't. If you've read my movie reviews this is not something new. I tend to shit on movies and end up watching them. This movie has such a simple premise that it makes no sense to say there will be spoilers. It also has a lot of actors that I won't bother naming because there are a lot of “that guy from that film” character actors in this. The story is pretty much Wonder Woman, aka Princess Diana, played by Gal Gadot leaves Themyscira after a plane carrying Trevor Rogers played by Chris Pine lands there. She saves his ass and then leaves with him to see the world and kill ze Germans.

New Wonder Woman Image Kind Of Released

A new image was released of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and I was less than impressed considering that a full image of her was released months ago. She spoke of playing WW in an upcoming (2017) movie and said “Oh, my God, I'm so excited about this role. I feel like I've been given a huge opportunity to inspire people, not only women. And not because of me but because of who Wonder Woman is and what she stands for. There's a lot of responsibility. But I have the best team and the best people to work with. It's going to be an amazing ride, knock on wood.” On IMDB the small synopsis of the movie is “An Amazon princess comes to the world of Man to become the greatest of the superheroines.”

It is being directed by Patty Jenkins who only other movie credit is Monster from 2003 and starred Charlize Theron. God, why couldn't she have been cast as Wonder Woman? The writer is a guy that did one of the Ice Age sequels and that Pan movie that came out a little bit ago and tanked (on a budget of $150 million it has made just $33 million in the last month and a half). I don't have too much hope for this movie or most of the upcoming ones (check that post out here). I don't hate DC films. People pick sides. You're either Marvel or DC. Its bullshit. I'm pro good films. The best Marvel thing made has been Daredevil and the best DC has been Batman. The whole set of DC films hinge on Batman V. Superman being incredible and I just don't see it being that. 

Upcoming DC Films Excitement Levels

DC Films has released a list of ten upcoming films. Some of these are really worth being excited about while others are highly questionable. If you're not a fan of superheroes you are gonna hate the next 15 years of movies and television because the market is seriously being flooded with them. The problem with some of these is that the latter ones seem to depend on the success of the former.

Sony, that own the Marvel character Spiderman had set up for a Sinister Six movie but after the way the second film of the reboot did that idea has seemed to go away for now. I can easily see the same happening with some of these.

I Survived The Wonder Woman Pilot

That was something else. For some reason Wonder Woman popped into my head and I wanted to see if I could watch that terrible looking series that never aired from 2011. Turns out that it is everywhere online so I watched it and it was actually worse than I was expecting.

Now, I am not being harsh on things like special effects because it isn't complete. Here Lasso of Truth is a cartoon at times, the Invisible Jet looks like ass, and the same two girls cheer for her on two separate occasions. But I can talk about the writing and the acting both of which were just...ugh.

New Wonder Woman Image Released

There comes a time in every nerds life when you just realize that no amount of complaining is gonna fix anything. This time I am tired of being upset about the new Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie that is coming out. They released the image of the new Wonder Woman being played by Gal Gadot and when I saw it I just sighed in defeat. Okay. I get it. You don’t want Wonder Woman to look cool or threatening in the least. I was hoping that Gadot would at the very least put on some extra pounds but so far it looks like they are going with a very thin woman that appears to be in a Halloween outfit. While it isn’t close to as bad as that series that never aired it still doesn’t scream Wonder Woman to me. It does scream Xena: Warrior Princess though.

Should Gal Gadot Be Wonder Woman?

A while back I wrote a blog defending Ben Affleck playing Batman here in the upcoming Superman movie. I'm still fine with this but then I heard that they were going to add Wonder Woman to the mix and my eyebrow went up so fast that it hurt. There is always a problem when it comes to Wonder Woman films which I wrote about before here.

Wonder Woman is an iconic character that has had highs and lows in the comics, a cool series back in the day, an incredible resurgence in cartoon, but has struggled in terms of a movie or new series. Hell, the latest attempt at a series was so bad that it didn't even get a chance to air after the script and images of it got out. Honestly the best version of a live action Wonder Woman since Lynda Carter was Kimberly Kane in a porno!

Now THIS Is A Wonder Woman

Is there anything porn cant do? It saves relationships, keeps teens off the streets, and me from going on punching sprees. There is a new adult film starring porn actress Kimberly Kane where she plays Wonder Woman and I'll be damned if she isn't the second best looking woman to wear the outfit. It has an updated look that is just incredible. I mean, honestly. She looks like a great Wonder Woman. Nevermind the fact that she has had more hands on her than the Stanley Cup. If they were to make a legit WW film this dame needs to play her. You know why? Because anything is better than this.
