The Review: Luke Cage Season 2

Luke Cage Season Two 2/10

There will be a bunch of spoilers. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. Season two of Luke Cage pisses me off not just because these Netflix series have been floundering when they get to the second season, but because it was not as if there were changes to the cast or anything. They just decided to take what you liked most about certain characters and flip them until they made no sense, dragged out the story (this could have easily been eight episodes), and tried way too hard to be cooler than the first season and failed super hard with that. I don't care how many musicians you have perform on the show. And why would these people want to even perform at a club that is owned by someone publicly known for being a criminal who deals in weapons and eventually drugs? And the songs were also too on the nose. If Cage is walking down the street the song would be like “Bulletproof Black man walking down the street, oh yeah...”

The Review: Iron Fist

Iron Fist 4/10

There will be spoilers. Man, they really managed to bone this series. Over the last two and a half days I watched the new Netflix series Iron Fist. This show was not as bad as some of the reviews I read afterward because there were people ready to hate this show no matter what. I was not a fan of any of the characters that Netflix has been making shows based off of but have watched them all and besides half the second season of Daredevil I have enjoyed them. Jessica Jones was good. Luke Cage was amazing. The first season of Daredevil was good. So I gave this show the same chance because I am not looking to be not entertained. What made me give this a 4 out of 10 instead of less were the characters from the shows I just mentioned showing up.

10 Reasons Why You Should Have Watched Luke Cage

For all the people that keep on saying “The comic book movie/TV show bubble is gonna burst!” I feel bad for you because shows like Luke Cage are being made and better than most things on TV. If this was one of my The Review posts I would give it a 10/10 just so you know how I feel about this series. People are saying this is the best series Netflix has done while I would say this is one of the best pure seasons of a television series.

A fast version of describing this show (though there is so much more than this) is that a man is locked away in prison, gets experimented on, gains the ability of being super strong and bullet proof, and fights crime when it presents itself. Sounds cheesy as hell but trust me, its not. Well, it is but this series makes it work. In this 10 Reasons Why You Should Have Watched Luke Cage which will be full of spoilers I am gonna explain why you should have watched this and still have the chance unless you're an asshole that thinks superhero related entertainment is stupid.

The Review: Top Five

I watched the movie Top Five starring Chris Rock and Rosario Dawson as well as a shit ton of Black actors and comedians the other night as well as today with my cousin Jasmine. I had heard of this movie but had no desire to see it but while scanning Amazon stumbled on it and began laughing minutes into it. This is about a former comedian and actor named Andre Allen that starred in a cheesy ass movie franchise called Hammy The Bear trying to get into more serious roles while battling an alcohol addiction problem and the fact that he is about to marry a reality show star that is obviously using him as a stepping stone.

10 Reasons Why You Should Have Watched Daredevil

Netflix debuted the new Daredevil series from Marvel. What that means is that every single episode was released at once. All 13 episodes came out in one day which meant it became a race to hurry up and watch them before everyone started to spoil them which is hard depending on how much time you spend online. Which meant I personally had to hurry the fuck up and finish this. Daredevil is the story of a guy that was blinded as a child saving someone from dying and chemicals enhanced his other senses. As an adult he fights crime. Here are 10 Reasons Why You Should Have Watched Daredevil. This will be full of spoilers so if you don't wanna know or haven't watched this yet read this another time.

1. The Man In The Black Mask

Charlie Cox plays Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in this. He is awesome and does this perfectly. What I really dug about this was that he does not start off wearing the costume that we're used to. He starts off fighting crime known as “the man in the black mask.” For the first few episodes I was starting to think that they wouldn't even get to him wearing the red costume. They did eventually but they made this story so good that I wouldn't have been mad if they hadn't.

Theater Whore: Sin City 2 A Dame To Kill For

Sin City 2 A Dame To Kill For 6/10

Today Koko and I went to check out Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For. I wasn't expecting too much from this but it was better than I expected it to be. It has been almost ten years since the first film and it shows on some of the actors and actresses most notably Mickey Rourke. Missing were two actors that have passed away since the first film Brittany Murphy as Shellie and Michael Clark Duncan as Manute who was replaced by Dennis Haysbert as well as Devon Aoki as Miho who is pregnant.

The first story is a col short story starring Marv where he wakes up not knowing where he is or what he has been doing. He realizes that he's back in his old neighborhood and chasing these guys that burned a homeless guy. Its pretty fast where he has the guys murdered and kills a few himself while playing back how he got there. Short and sweet and very...very violent.

FAP FILES: Rosario Dawson

She who wins life. She who wins the internets. She who is the hottest woman and Fap File Of The Year! Rosario Dawson is the best everything that ever lived. I’ve stopped defending her against naysayer’s. I have had a thing for her ever since I was a teenager. I saw her in the movie Kids and immediately was like “Who is this and how can I live in her?” She is as far as I’m concerned the total package in terms of hotness, womaness, and coolness. She is what happens when you combine Puerto Rican, Afro-Cuban, Native American, and Irish blood. That could be a terrible dish to eat but for whatever reason creates a hot ass chick. I love how in that movie  Seven Pounds they tried to make her unattractive and like she was dying. I was like "Whatevs..." They're are gonna have to use some CGI and secretly place some foul smell under my seat to make me unhappy while looking at her. Either that or show me a photo of her and a new boyfriend. That never makes me happy.
