The Review: The Mandalorian Season 3

The Mandalorian Season 3 (6/10)

This previous season of The Mandalorian while it was good it was not close to as entertaining as previous seasons. This felt like TV shows back when I was younger that came out in the '70s '80s and early '90s where there would be episodes where the main character was barely in it and it focused mainly on side characters or new characters. Next thing you know you realize that it was setting up for a spin-off. That's what this season felt like. I remember on Married with Children there were a few episodes where the same thing happened and I just sat there like “What the hell does this have to do anything with the show?” It was cool and everything but I didn't like the way the main villain was taken out and that maybe half the season focused on the Mandalorian. I did not hate the season but I'm not excited for another one the same way I was after season one and season two.

Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin/The Mandalorian

Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze

Emily Swallow as The Armorer

Carl Weathers as Greef Karga

Katy M. O'Brian as Elia Kane

Mercedes Varnado as Koska Reeves

Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon

The Review: The Boys Season 3

The Boys Season 3 (10/10)

Holy shit this show is good! This gonna be full of spoilers. I need to figure out how the hell I am even gonna write about this because there are a lot of people and a lot of things happening. Maybe I will just go character by character and try to tie all of their stories together and see how it goes. This is gonna be a mess. This season was the most violent, funniest, most somehow emotional, and best acted season so far. First season was good. Second was great. This was incredible!

The Review: The Umbrella Academy Season 3

Umbrella Academy Season 3 (6/10)

This wont be long. I know that I said I was not gonna watch this show if they made it but I did. I ended up ironing and plowing through the third season. This was definitely better than the second one even though there were way more people. Just like previous seasons it picks up right where the last one left off. The team is stuck in an alternate reality where their goofy asses were never created. Instead their adoptive father created the Sparrow Academy because when he met them in the 60's he realized that they were fuck ups and wanted to fix that. Just like before the world is going to end because of things they have done and mistakes that were made and they need to stop it and they do but not without a bunch of confusion in between. The new team seems to have a more famous lifestyle than the Umbrella Academy did but seem like jerks still. None are really likable. Again for the third time in a row Klaus and Five are the most interesting parts of the series. Vanya/Viktor remains uninteresting. Diego is a shit fighter. Luther's a jackass. And Allison is a monster.

The Review: What We Do In The Shadows Season 3

What We Do In The Shadows Season 3 (2/10)

It is crazy how I can enjoy a series so much and then it takes a nosedive. I disliked this past season so much that I forgot to even write about it. The cast is all the same and they even added a few extra but the writing seemed...off. It felt like the show was making fun of itself it that makes any sense. Sort of how Black Mirror became a parody of Black Mirror so much that when shows mocked it they looked like actual episodes of the series. That is what I felt like watching this. There was one episode (the gym cult) that had me laughing but the rest just felt strange and rushed. There is supposed to be another season. I'm at a point in my life where I don't feel the need to continue watching series that go on too long and don't make me happy the way they used to.

The Review: Doom Patrol Season 3

Doom Patrol Season Three 1/10

This season was terrible. I loved the first season and the second was riddled with issues. I started watching this and this huge arc from the first season was wrapped up in the first two minutes of this season. I thought it was a dream or illusion but, no, it was real and stupid. I remember when this series had interesting villains and other characters that would randomly pop up. When things would get weird they weren't cool or funny weird. Its like the show was suddenly being done by folks who had heard what the show was like and then they got to make it. This one had uninteresting villains and any extra person that appeared was dull. I seriously straight up could not give a damn about anyone this season.

The Review: Legion Season 3

Legion Season Three 10/10

Full of spoilers. There were so many times during this season that I forgot to take a damn breath. Wow. That was great. I was sitting here a couple days ago trying to figure out what to watch and remembered that Legion was on Hulu. The idea was to watch two episodes a day. That went out the window after watching two last night and all the rest today so this will not be a recap of every episode. That is difficult with this kind of show anyway so this is mostly gonna be me talking about what I enjoyed and gushing over it. I also see from my reviews of season one and season two that I have given every season 10/10. That is a first for any series I've ever watched. It sucks that not as many people are/were talking about how great this show was.

The Review: Hap And Leonard Season 3

Hap And Leonard Season 3 (10/10)

Full of spoilers. The last episode of season three of Hap And Leonard had a scene so intense I pulled an ass muscle! After watching this I read that it was canceled and if I had any power over a station I would renew the fuck out of this show. Each season is six episodes at about 45 minutes and every single one has been great. This is one of those shows I tell people to watch and have to repeat the title. Maybe it is the channels it airs on originally. Maybe it is bad advertisement. Either way this is a series that way more people should have been watching and talking about. This season was somehow heavier than the previous two in tone (click here for season one and here for season two).

The Review: Santa Clarita Diet Season 3

Santa Clarita Diet Season 3 (3/10)

This will have spoilers. When I first started watching this show I said during the first season in a review “The reason I didn't rate this any higher is because while her zombie mystery illness is not solved I can not see this going past two seasons without it being resolved or more people finding out and having to be killed.” Then during the second season I said “I know in the past that I said I hoped this wouldn't go too many seasons but I think a solid four seasons with ten episodes each (please no more than that) and I'll be good. I just don't want this to wear out its welcome.” Now I'm starting to think it has worn out its welcome. I finished watching this latest season of Santa Clarita Diet and was bummed out that they have piled on more stories and lore but have made more questions than can possibly be answered in the next season or even two. I had hoped that this would be the last season and it could wrap up in some nice fashion but the way it ended actually pissed me off.

The Review: Ash Vs Evil Dead Season 3

Ash Vs. Evil Dead Season Three 6/10

My best friend Cam accidentally got Starz and by accident I mean that Amazon is up to some sneaky nonsense and everyone should check their accounts. I saw that they had Ash Vs. Evil Dead on there and it took me a week to notice that they had all three seasons. I loved season one. Loved season two. Season three...not so much. It felt like they were trying to do too much with the small amount of time they have. Most shows have twenty episodes or more person season and forty some odd minutes with commercials and such. This show is half an hour each and ten episodes.

The Review: Daredevil Season 3

Daredevil Season 3 – 9/10

There will be spoilers. Hot off the heels of the cancellation of Luke Cage and Iron Fist the writers of Daredevil season three were like “Fuck it, let's make this even better than the first season and pretend that the half decent second season didn't happen!” Seriously. Cam asked me if she needed to watch the second season to watch this and I said that she could watch the Netflix recap and be fine. You don't have to watch any of the spin off shows either. That Elektra stuff was boring and terrible and dragged Daredevil down while the Punisherstuff was awesome as all get out. I was worried about this since the second season of all these Marvel shows find ways to be horrible but they somehow found a way to get me to watch this entire seasons in less than twenty four hours. Did it need thirteen episodes? No. Did I like every episode? No. I'll get to the one I didn't enjoy soon enough. Though this season was not perfect it did more to develop every character on screen and flesh out their stories in ways I could not predict.

The Review: Black Mirror Season Three

Black Mirror Season Three 7/10

I finally got around to finishing season three of Black Mirror. The first season (click here to check that review out) was incredible even though it is hard to get people to watch since the first one is the most extreme I have seen so far. Seriously, people. No other episode is like that one! Season two was also really good (click here to check that one out) so I was really looking forward to it. I was not aware that there were six episodes and that made me nervous it turns out for good reason. Out of the six two of them were stinkers and now I am not in a rush to check out the fourth season. There will be some spoilers.

Nosedive is the first episode in this season and it had me going nuts. For people that do not now, I do not use cell phones and have never owned one. Not for any social or rebellious reasons. I just never needed one (except maybe twice a year when the bus decides to not show up). This stars Bryce Dallas Howard as Lacie Pound. In this world she has a rating of 4.2. What this is is a rating system that everyone has. The higher your rating the more things you do like get invites, better jobs, and just a general better social standing in the community. You can rate anyone and they can rate you which leads to everyone being super polite and phony with one another. You know that fake customer service voice you hear on the phone or the greeting when shopping? Imagine that everywhere you go because no one wants a bad rating. If you are even seen talking to someone with a low rating yours can be affected.
